whenever i see people say shit like “Kingdom Hearts/OG Monster Hunter 1/ DMC1/Sonic Adventure 2 are jank and thus don’t hold up” i think they need to see games less as functional office software and more as fuckin games cuz those all not only hold up to this day but are often better for it

I say this with zero irony: if you are even tangentially a part of a retro video game community, it is your civic duty to push back against this company and shun anyone who doesn't. This is fascism tapping gently at the door and as soon as you let it in, it's going to invite its friends.

You can be an incredibly hard worker and still be a piece of shit for selling out your fellow industry peers, discontinuing programs for developers, making an awards show next to inaccessible in price for most game devs and allowing gamergaters in your show. idc how hard he worked. he sucks.

Epic pays for licensing fees for the games they give away for free as promotions. Which means even if YOU aren't paying for it, you're giving money to JK Rowling to harm transgender people AND elevating her stature by giving her franchise higher numbers. NO TERF WIZARD GAME. NO TERF WIZARD SHOW.

I am so furious at YouTube for doing this. You have literal gambling ads plastered across your website. The video you take action on contains no real gambling, and is promoting an LGBTQ+ children's charity fundraiser. Absolutely horrendous image and optics for the website. Completely moronic

Bridge Clearance xkcd.com/3174/

Comic. [Two roads with signs next to them. The road on the left has a bridge over it with a sign that reads “Bridge: Clearance 10 ft 6 in” leading up to a pre-bridge hazard bar. The second road has no bridge and a sign with a pole extending upward off-screen that reads “No Bridge: Clearance 46 billion+ light-years”

It's that giving time of year again, so this is a reminder that no matter how they try to dress it up, the Salvation Army is not a charity.

The Salvation Army is not a charity. They are an evangelical church that uses donated money to actively oppress gay rights. They've been especially cruel to trans people.

Cool free stuff alert: They're giving away the base version of Warhammer: Vermintide 2 this weekend. Really good co-op first-person brawler about the world's most dysfunctional friend group fighting through the ratpocalypse. There's some decent DLC but they've added a LOT for free over the years.

Getting into making music this year has genuinely done wonders to my self esteem and mental well being. Plus i get to make music that fits my exact taste. I can make a Deus Ex tribute made with Mega Man Zero instruments just because I feel like it. That power has gone to my head.

Tie between Amnesia: The Bunker, Lost in Vivo, and Silent Hill 3. All for different reasons. Bunker for its unending tension, Lost in Vivo for its constant feeling of dread, and SH3's use of being stripped of bodily autonomy was disturbing in a way that hit really close to home.
