The type of leftist who reflexively disbelieves anything Israeli media/mossad/CIA says about Palestine, but automatically believes what those same entities say about Iranian resistance/Kurds is not to be trusted. They are poisonous to internationalism from below.

It’s truly incredible that with the Americans and Israelis making up claims of potential Iranian WMDs, there is virtually no mention anywhere in most of the mainstream coverage so far that the *only* Middle Eastern state with undeclared nuclear weapon is Israel.

I rounded out my remembrance of Diamond Dave Whitaker, adding more about him and took out some of the stuff that was just about me. It's up on my libcom blog now. Gonna post it here for the record.

A personal remembrance of David Whittaker who led an interesting life as a street historian, poet, and someone who lent a hand.

If you came as a radical in the Bay Area in the past 50 yrs there is a good chance you met Diamond Dave. I first bumped into him at the Nevada Test Site in '87. He spoke in poems and legend has it turned Bob Dylan onto Woody Guthrie. "Get in the loop, have some soup" RIP

Iranians have not even finished mourning those who were killed by their own parasitic state just last month and yet now must endure another round of death brought upon them by exogenous monsters. What a deeply broken world.

The winter fires sweeping across the great plains are part of the same process that foul the Antarctic with microplastics. An entire world swallowed by a single leviathan metabolizing each and every lifeform. Entropy untethered.

We do not have to fall over ourselves saying that we love technological progress. The onus is on them to explain to us why we should be excited about new technology while there are microplastics in every mother's breast milk and our rivers are drying up

I see little reason for "the left" to engage apart from understanding what this really is, a technology of class warfare from above, and therefore, resiting, undermining, and sabotaging any aspects of it which do not serve the interests of the majority of us not in the ruling class.

📍 This week on Thin Ink, I once again unpack why record food production does not equal food security, because hunger is about access, power and rights. FAO’s latest cereal brief forecasts record production & rising stocks. Good news but also got me thinking. news.thin-ink.net/p/we-dont-ha...

Worthwhile read for anyone interested both specifically in the unfolding of Burma's Spring Revolution and the existential potentials and limits of revolutionary struggle more generally. Both interviewer and interviewee are friends of mine, so I vouch for the poignancy of the conversation.

"Animals"? Scientifically, that term includes us humans, yet we use the word to differentiate between other kinds of animals & us - usually in a way that privileges us over them. All non-human animals are our cousins & should be treated as such, with respect & honor for their role in our ecology.
