How you assess Scott Wiener's politics says a lot about whether you're any kind of socialist/left progressive, or just a corporate liberal.

Guys, guys! I was watching the Tim Heidecker podcast on infowars and had to pause it for a sec. I noticed this weird masking effect on Jeremy Levick's face. Is this an AI screen of some sort? Capitalist violence against workers illicits violent responses. The key is organizing class based action to take power from bosses. Young people might imagine "30 years ago" as a semi-utopia of job stability, cheap rent and mortgages, but it was, since the 70s, a time of the working class retreat.

The reason I'm not a "Marxist" is because one can make the case all day for what economic system serves the most people, but Marxism is something different: a Hegelian quasi-religious belief about what conditions need to be achieved in order to bring about the next state of human society. 2/3

I watched Trump's 9/11 2026 address from the Pentagon. He gives off real "Dying Empire" vibes. He can barely read his teleprompter, with awful timing & misplaced word emphasis. The speech was of course politically terrible and his trying to add colorful adjectives just made it aesthetically worse.
Trump adding adjectives to his speech, describes the injuries sustained by the surviving victims of the 9/11 attacks as "horrible and grotesque" as shown on the closed captions on youtube.

While 9/11 was "chickens coming home to roost" and the US was the clear leader in terrorist and regime change meddling in the second half of the 20th century, it wasn't reason to cheer or support the attacks as anti-imperialist. Killing civilians, no matter how symbolic their workplace, is bad.

Siyâvash Shahabi on the campist attack on the open letter in solidarity with Iranian political prisoners.
Siyâvash Shahabi
11 hours ago • 6
I don't care what the far-right and Zionists says about this person as the founder of Electronic Intifada.
If simply signing a letter in solidarity with Iran's political prisoners and against death penalty and condemning US and Israel war on Iran can create such a coalition of pressure, smears, and intimidation that even Rashid Khalidi forced to withdraw his signature, then what has taken shape here is a kind of colonial discrimination.
Itself is a dehumanization of Iranian political prisoners under death penalty.
This also mean a Palestinian deserves solidarity only as long as they don't see Iranian suffering.
An Iranian is acceptable only when they translate domestic repression into the language one camp wants to hear. A human being is valued not for their rights and freedom, but for the place they occupy on the map of political camps.
In this logic, anti-colonialism can live under the same roof as political intimidation. And defending Palestine can become an excuse to silence an Iranian political prisoner's voice.
For all its apparent hostility toward the opposite camp, this way of thinking isn't so different when it comes to defining who counts as human. Both sides recognize people only as far as those people serve their own political story.
They did exactly this until the question of Palestine lost much of its relevance for Iranian society.
Why should Iranian's life depend on Palestine issues?
In my opinion, colonialism has successfully used the contradictions of political Islam and its tyrantism to externalize its responsibility. The Western world is ineffective in the face of genocide, but Iran and Iranians must play the role of fighter and resistance!
This is still colonialism with other words. See less

1:07 PM • Apr 8, 2020 • Twitter WebBenjamin Studebaker in the right wing mag "The Bellows" demanding schools reopen for Covid. He's writing this in June of 2020, 3 months into the pandemic as it was becoming clear that only crazy people would oppose Covid protection/mediation/isolating to fight the spread and protect the population. Again, he frames is like he's making a class argument rather than the actual far Right Eugenics logic he's pushing.

Excerpt: Such cuts will be even easier to make if schools do not reopen in the fall. Teachers understandably want to protect themselves, their friends, and their families from the virus, but if schools remain closed, those teachers will not be able to use the threat of a strike to resist the coming cuts. Instead they will be made while teachers sit
at home.

If the schools don't come back, parents-especially working parents-will need to find some alternative way of keeping their kids busy. Class will play a decisive role in the set of alternatives available to them. If public schools do not re-open, many private schools will. There will be large-scale movement of affluent students out of the public system and into the private, especially in states with extensive voucher programs. Those students may never return to the public
system, weakening it permanently.

Wealthy families will hire private tutors. With many universities freezing hiring and piles of PhD graduates looking for work, it will become easier for affluent families to make bespoke arrangements. Eventually, some enterprising
Silicon Valley kid will build an Uber for private tutoring.

Poor and working parents won't have easy access to these things. Their kids will be stuck at home in an endless summer slump. Many will be left unsupervised for extended periods of time. Crime rates tend to spike in the summer, when vulnerable teenagers are most often left to their own devices. We will see more of that, for longer.Studebaker tweets from 2022 and 2014 blaming everyone but Russia for the crisis in Ukraine.

There's zero equivalence between Palestine & Ukraine. Palestine has been brutally & illegally occupied by Zionists for 76 years & is under accelerated genocide. Ukraine is the pet interest of US empire to serve a proxy war with its Cold War enemy Russia.
