the mutual aid posts you see are so often from survivors. those being ignored and made fun of shows survivors in your life they cannot trust you and most likely will keep to themselves (as is their right). how you treat people you don't know and who need help, shows how you'll treat your own people.

we need CONSISTENT financial, food, housing, and community support. because whether or not the abuser is dead, those needs do not disappear. we need people who don't just say they believe us but actually act in a way that proves that's true.

what are you going to do when you learn you've abused someone? are you taking yourself out? i'm not advocating for that. what i care about is survivors. that should be your focus too. you have a better chance of being effective by supporting survivors than by "avenging" them.
