I use to work 2 jobs until my body couldn't handle doing it with my long covid issues. In December 2022 my health landed me in the ER where I was in AFib. My heart had to be restarted because it wouldn't come down from over 215 bpm. Not only was that experience extremely traumatizing but it was also eye opening that I am the only one caring for my kids. I realized I needed to do whatever I had to to make sure I stayed around for them.
Which brings me to the main reason outside of my health that I cannot work. One of my kids is disabled with level 3 autism. It is the most severe type of autism. He is nonverbal, aggressive when overwhelmed/ can't communicate and doesn't understand to avoid dangerous things. I have to lock my house up tight so he can't elope as drowning is a HUGE cause of death among severely autistic kids like my son. I'm in high alert majority of the day unless he sleeps.

I tried getting him caregivers but he did worse and was hurting those caregivers because he was so upset, I would have to take off work to come home and help him as well as relieve the caregivers. He needs me with him. I take him to his weekly therapies (when we had a car) which is 3 therapies and do everything for him as he has issues even using the bathroom, bathing himself and things kids usually know how to do by
4. This has put me in a very difficult situation not being able to work and waiting on government assistance to help. I'm now stuck needing help online.I'm extremely thankful to have this community and genuine people care about my kids and I.
