bjkeefe @bjkeefe.bsky.social · 8hThis was probably strategic: Trump was going to TACO, but because they didn't want it to be all about Trump TACOing, they decided to set up a second target for derision right before Trump TACOed. 031
bjkeefe @bjkeefe.bsky.social · 8hLOL! I was just looking for something to go along with the breaking news alert about Trump. Thanks! Now I only have to repost. ;) 020

bjkeefe @bjkeefe.bsky.social · 8hI think you should post this comment under Phillips's post, or on his Substack. I re-posted mostly to alert people to his book being on sale. I don't want to speak on his behalf about his essay. bsky.app/profile/phil... 001

bjkeefe @bjkeefe.bsky.social · 10hI gotta say, there is some worth in documenting the horrible people on the far right. I do it myself regularly. But we do get to a point where it's clear we're talking about a pure attention whore, who has no following and influences nobody. Tracey is one of those. cc @anthonylfisher.bsky.social 000
bjkeefe @bjkeefe.bsky.social · 11hI won't say there's no chance. I think having some security for the prominent reporters is certainly in order. But we can't live our lives in fear of what he *might* do. We've been saying it since Day 1: the way to defeat a bully is to stand up to him, and the longer you don't, the harder it gets. 000
bjkeefe @bjkeefe.bsky.social · 11hI remember when people were trying to make <strike>fetch</strike> KiB and MiB happen. If 1024 or 1000 makes a diff, say so at the top of the page, I guess, but 999/1000 times it struck me as about as pointless as a debate about Daylight Saving Time. <*ducks, flees the premises*> 000
bjkeefe @bjkeefe.bsky.social · 11h2/2 but I suspect the steady drip-drip of moments like this are part of the reason his approval ratings have been so steadily going down. I think normies who see things like this on the news, over and over, start losing whatever confidence they might once have had in him. 010
bjkeefe @bjkeefe.bsky.social · 11hI think they serve *some* purpose -- they get him on the record, and it is becoming ever more clear that he has gotten himself tied into knots with his own lies. Put another way, the question itself becomes the answer when all he can do is work himself into another snit. No way to tell, ofc, 1/2 110
bjkeefe @bjkeefe.bsky.social · 11h3/3 There's a very small chance that his non-stop demonizing triggers some disturbo into going after one of them. I think that's part of the job, though, and anyone who is worried about that should step aside and let another reporter have the slot. 110
bjkeefe @bjkeefe.bsky.social · 11h2/3 by reporting facts. I think that might just tip enough Republicans into voting for impeachment -- and Miller, et al, know that -- that if Trump gave the order, it would be quickly countermanded, and then they'd try to spin by saying the "Artificial News" was making it all up. 110
bjkeefe @bjkeefe.bsky.social · 11hTBH, I don't think there's any danger, at least not directly from him and his lackeys. Any reporter who actually got arrested for this would be out in a couple of days, max, and would have a ticket punched for life. And it would absolutely bury him if he had them arrested for making him sad 1/3 110
bjkeefe @bjkeefe.bsky.social · 11hI mean, yeah, he's already going to send them to prison for correctly reporting crowd numbers. What do they have to lose? 110
