🚨The Florida government is going to tear down Everglades wetlands so they can build a tent camp in the swamp to fuel Trump's mass deportation operations — and they’re going to get money from Trump that Congress intended for humanitarian care to recently arrived-migrants.

The Everglades facility is part of a broader effort by the Trump administration to enlist local authorities to boost detention capacity and expand the number of officers around the country who can arrest undocumented immigrants. The Trump administration has struggled to meet its mass deportations goals in part because of resource constraints, and it is looking for every way possible to help increase numbers.
The goal in Florida is to have 5,000 additional beds, spread out at the new facility and potentially other, smaller facilities as well.

My mentee at her first UURAF vs. myself at my first UURAF in 2016. Literally so proud of her. She did all the MeOH extractions and identification of glucosinolates herself! From soil she collected in the Lansing area! If you didn't get a chance to hear her research she will be at the GLRC in Sept!!
