(little old guy painted a while ago for example)

Old timey miniature of a lizard man, he's green with a peachy chest and a mauve loincloth, got a bronze trident and shield, looks kind of frowny

back view of lizard man miniature showing off his Ripped Shoulders and minimalistic dark green scale splotches on his back

birdhead birdhead @birdheadbirdhead.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

doing new miniatures still messes with me because a) i learned to paint on old timey, far less detailed minis and b) mostly i'm stippling much larger surfaces on robot models and boy howdy does the technique and scale i work at there not translate to tiny, already-detailed miniatures

Fun fact, it's ok to not be perfect at things you like doing. Its ok to make mistakes, or to be content with your current abilities. Internet comments are often "you dont know what you're doing" and "man this sucks" but it's OKAY. You don't have to optimise and min max things you like doing.

The Atrium of Time.

An ancient looking chamber covered in snow boasts a curious machine in the middle-- a probe or satellite with a golden dish array on the front, inscribed with the motto "Lux Dei Vitae Viam Monstrat." Stone statues of megalithic fauna linger in the foreground as two characters, a young man in raggedy clothing, and a woman wearing an expensive looking fur coat meet eyes.

Another kitbash from several years ago. Somewhere in the middle between Stalker and Fallout.

A painted figure of a Soviet soldier with a massive futuristic gun.
They are wearing an exoskeleton consisting primarily of corrugated piping, with a gas mask and some dark green armor.

Direct view of the gun, with its row of brass coils.

View from the back, showing a power backpack.

Kitbashed vehicle to accomodate the three metal space dwarves from Checkpoint Miniatures. The original sculpts were quite crude, and I had to sculpt them faces. The base model here is from Tehnolog, with scratchbuilt sidecar and gunpla bits around.

A sci-fi vehicle on three wheeled legs, consisting of an elongated hull with a windowed cockpit, and an open sidecar.
It has a long, thin cannon on the right side.
Te vehicle is painted in camouflage resembling Riggenbach's reed frog - brown, with squiggly beige stripes and bright orange "toes".

View from the cannon side.
The cannon is pale olive, with an orange/white striped section.

Here are a couple more pictures of the very serious diorama. This is the first time I've ever scratchbuilt something. I'm going to be doing more in the future. #gunpla

Close up of 1/32 scale scratchbuilt nacho rocket, with a little Zeon soldier in the background radioing in whatever the hell just happened here.

Close up of 1/32 scale nacho attacked Zaku head showing off its cracked visor, damaged head armor, and wires dangling out of its heat pipes.

Close up of 1/32 scale zaku head showing off the 7 Eleven decal I stupidly put where you can't see it on account of the heat pipes.

I built a very silly diorama for a 7-11 themed competition. It's the UC Hardgraph Ramba Ral playset under attack by scratchbuilt nacho. I put Crowley Hamon on the dirt bike because I don't like Extreme Anime Sexual Dimorphism. #gunpla

1/32 diorama showing a wrecked up white Zaku head with wires and stuff hanging out of the broken parts, a cracked visor screen, and a giant rocket nacho chip sticking out of the crown of its head. Four human figures are standing around the wreckage.

Rear shot of the 1/32 Zaku head diorama showing 7-11 themed "Oh Thank Heaven!" waterslide decal and Crowley Hamon in blue jumpsuit on a little dirt bike.

Opposite view of 1/32 diorama showing off to great effect the rocket nacho impacted into the Zaku head, nacho cheese splurting out. In the background there's a guy with a clipboard pointing at the head and an officer in blue who is not having a great day.
