According to presumably the farmer of the land, this part of Ryal pits will be for leisure boating & there’ll be more reed beds & pools further north. I’m going to set it up as a WeBS site as it’s obviously an important area for water birds, if anyone fancies counting it once a month #worcsbirds

A good day at WWT Slimbridge with 72 species recorded. Highlights; 20 Cattle Egret, 3/4 Greenshank, 9+ Spotted Redshank, Wood Sandpiper, Yellow Legged Gull, Spoonbill, Marsh Harrier, good nos Black Tailed Godwit, Knot & @wheatearlp.bsky.social finding the Pec Sand and then another one! #ukbirding

Did not expect a Firecrest in conifer shrubs on Wood Street, High Barnet! Was calling & flew over to Ravenscroft Park and may be hanging about in conifers there. Needless to say I got some odd looks peering into peoples hedges but got a reasonable look at it.. #ukbirding

7 species of mammal at Upper Hollowfields Farm this evening whilst setting the moth trap; Roe & Muntjac Deer, Brown Hare, Rabbit, Fox, Bank Vole (caught by the Fox!) and a Badger trotting past me within two feet without a care!

Timberhonger area this afternoon saw some passage with 3 Wheatear, 2 Stonechat, 1 Whinchat, c30 Meadow Pipit, a steady stream of Swallow and House Martin south. Also numbers building for Chaffinch. c30 Clouded Yellow, Painted Lady, Small Copper & Common Blue #worcsbirds

No Spotted Flycatcher seen at Chaddesley Woods this morning. The fields held 3 Yellowhammer, 8 Meadow Pipit, good nos of Skylark, 8 Swallow over, Yellow Wagtail in cabbage field. New for that patch list are 2 Sand Martin & a calling Green Sandpiper presumably from the fishing pools #worcsbirds
Chaddesley Woods greening up nicely thanks to recent rain. Good nos of Chiffchaff, Nuthatch & Coal Tit present but no Spotted Flycatcher this morning

Red Kite at the start of my 5 mile walk from home around Timberhonger. Other highlights; 6 Yellow Wagtail (mostly juvs) in proposed solar farm field, juv Redstart, 2 lemony Willow Warbler (brief song), c30 Swallow, c50 House Martin, 4 Clouded Yellow. Walk curtailed by local hunt.. #worcsbirds

A productive 5 mile circuit from home around Timberhonger. 2 Yellow Wagtail, great views of a pair of Hobby, male Whinchat, Willow Warbler, Redstart, c20 Swallow & c30 House Martin. Also 2 Tree Pipit over the trig point plus a few Chaffinch & over a dozen Skylark #worcsbirds
The valley area on patch must encourage migrants to pass through with Whinchat, Redstart, Willow Warbler nearby and good nos Swallow and Tree Pipit over Fallow field was full of finches - mainly Gold and Greenfinch with a male Whinchat on taller vegetationTrigg point where there were Tree Pipit over amongst other passerines
