Fairy quiet traps 21/9 (33/10) & 22/9 (43/14). However, Acrobasis suavella on the latter date was new for me with Black Rustic & Scrobipalpa ocellatana were nfy. Otherwise much as recent traps, 3 Garden Rose Tortrix and Eudonia angustea being the only 'different' species VC37 SO96 #teammoth

This morning's trap of 84/27 was almost exclusively brown, Lunar Underwing (5) being the only nfy and Silver Y & Rush Veneer the only hint of migration. Large YU, with 37, were unsurprisingly the most numerous but Lesser YU just reached double figures with 11 VC37 SO96 #teammoth

Absolutely no knowledge of leaf mines, this one caught my eye this afternoon. Obsidentify gives either S.aurella or S.spendidisimmella, so I presume the former is more likely but not definite.

A first for me this morning was Jersey Tiger. Scarce in Worcs to the end of 2024, I'm not sure how many have been reported in Worcs. in 2025 & 2026 to date, but suspect it's quite a few as the species spreads north. VC37 SO96 #teammoth

Large moths the order of the day, though total numbers quite low. The highlights, in increasing size order, were: Pale Prominent (2nd of the week), Lime Hawk-moth (nfy) & Striped Hawk-moth (new). Possibly the first time I have audibly sworn when turning over an egg-box VC37 SO96 #teammoth

Still a few potted moths to check, but best was a moth in through the bedroom window last night - Nephopterix angustella. Also, some colourful by-catch in the trap. A small leafhopper I'd never heard of - Zygina sp., probably flammigera (Fruit-tree Leafhopper).

Yesterday a.m. I helped at a 'moth morning' at a local nature reserve in King's Norton, B'ham (VC37). Total species across 2 traps was 48 + Co.Rustic agg. I was pleased to find 3 nfm in the MV trap - Olive-tree Pearl, Rusty-dot Pearl & Mompha raschkiella + an unexpected Twin-spot Wainscot #teammoth

Finally managed to attract an Alder Kitten to my garden trap. Square-spot Rustic was nfy & Least Carpet was my first in the garden this year. Silver Y was the only suggestion of migration. Four or five micros to look yet VC37 SO96 #teammoth

I had this Argyresthia sp. in my trap yesterday morning. Photos are some way short of great, but thoughts welcome. Most likely A.curvella (which is what Obsid gives) but I've also looked at sorbiella & ivella, both of which are rare in my area VC37 SO96 #teammoth

3.5 hours to 21.20 @ Flashes #uptonwarren was fairly quiet. Three Green Sandpipers probably the highlight, one Curlew in to roost, very small roost of c.35 BHGs, 2 LBBGs & 1 Herring. Other than that, much as usual.

A quick visit to Blithfield this p.m. with @birdergwc64.bsky.social to see the Caspian Tern. We were successful, average pic. attached. On the walk back to the car I saw the attached small moth in the grass. It appears to be Elachista argentella, which seems unusual @ Blithfield? #teammoth
