The nerds at the Somerville Police Department have installed lightsabers outside. (They're parking gates.) (Also they're incredibly bright. I wonder if they violate Somerville light ordinance.)

I'll just leave this paragraph here as just one component, and others can judge if my reasoning is "highly-motivated" (by what?) and that you're right that Gen AI can, right now, be trusted in the clinic.
Gen AI models also lack true clinical reasoning.
Despite generating responses that may appear ana
lytically sophisticated, the models do not reason in
the way clinicians do in form differential diagnoses,
weigh competing clinical priorities,or integrate nuanced
patient-specific context in a principled manner. Model
outputs are the product of statistical pattern recogni
tion over large text corpora, not of causal or mechanistic
understanding of patient physiology, radiobiology, and
dosimetry.As a result,a model may produce a plausible
sounding treatment recommendation without any under
lying understanding of why that recommendation is or is
not appropriate for a given patient.

If the party was doing more of the left, and less of the right, they'd be much better positioned to take advantage of the so-called "attention economy" and build a successful political movement.

I'm so glad I'm using Tidal. New Anti-AI policy.
Our stance on AI-generated music

Hi Nicholas Bauer!

AI music generation tools are changing how music is created and distributed. As this technology evolves, Tidal is introducing platform standards to protect artists, their craft, and inform listeners.
Here are the highlights of our new AI Policy:

Tidal will identify and tag AI-generated music in our app. Listeners will see an "AI" badge next to music we detect as wholly AI-generated.

Tidal will not tolerate AI-generated music that impersonates an artist or group, or that facilitates fraudulent activity. We're implementing automatic tools to remove these releases immediately and on an ongoing basis.

Tidal will not allow music that is 100% AI-generated to be monetized. No royalties will go to such releases, nor will AI-generated uploads be eligible for direct-to-fan sales.

We will expand these policies to music that is substantially AI-generated when AI detection technology is sufficiently reliable to do so.

You'll start seeing these changes from July 15.

Interesting view except... this big believer in AI is clearly using AI to generate figures and not checking the results. The six "modalities": two are identical, one of them is an administration route, not an agent type, and the other is a placeholder. And the subtitle doesn't relate to the image.

We just live in such the dumbest of times. Might as well read tea leaves. www.aljazeera.com/news/liveblo...
You can read into that as a sign of progress. This also shows the importance the president places on this region: Any deal he would obviously want to let them know about.

He told Axios earlier that he was “50/50”: 50 percent considering going back to war and 50 percent agreeing to the proposal.

It’s important to remember that Donald Trump said he was an hour away from relaunching military strikes against Iran, but then told reporters he stopped after requests from leadership in the Gulf because they wanted to see if a peace deal could be reached.

So, it’s very notable who he’s not speaking to – and also notable who he’s not speaking to. We’re going to be waiting to see if he reaches out to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

I can feel my argumentative college atheism re-emerging. I don't mind people who have faith in a religion generally, but I very much mind when they claim to have strong evidence that their religion is true, or engage in special pleading by dismissing science.
