Agreed, combined with disbarment/sanctions for attorneys who introduce it as evidence and jail time for those who created it. It will be the only way.

The solution is obvious: Nationalize Starlink.

Subscription-based apps typically no issues updating them didn't fix. Older apps from CDs or downloadables you had to execute to install were varied. If they pre-dated Win10, problems more frequent. For data, never rely on OneDrive. Use a backup tool like Vice-Versa. Browser plugins were problematic

Do any of the betting sites have "Lift sanctions on Lukoil" on them? Might be worth a fiver after the GOP agrees to allow the purchase of Russian oil.

Never in my life did I think a President could violate the law (22 USC §8923) and enable communist Russia to receive hard currency to attack a stated ally of the USA (SR #112, HR #155, HR #956) and Congress wouldn't immediately discuss impeachment.

"Censored" is not just status unknown. It is those patients whose status is known, and that status (in your example) is they have not progressed at the time point on the x-axis. This happens because KM curves assume all patients are enrolled on the same day, but that never happens in reality.

As I see it, here's the bet for all of us who depend on equity markets for our income: Under the (IMO) safe assumption the AI bubble will burst, what will this do to the rest of the market? A long #thread 🧵 (1/11)

If you're reading some non-perma bear with good ideas on what might work when (not if) the AI bubble bursts, please share. And join me in crossing fingers its a sector crash and not a crisis crash, bc the current dim bulbs in charge in DC don't have the first clue what to do in a crisis (end/11)

Brian Reynolds (Reynolds Strategy) taught me credit spreads are the canary in the financial crisis coal mine (you should follow his research). @fzucchi.bsky.social also learned from Brian, and occasionally writes here. These metrics can help us determine which crash we're going to get. (10/11)

Occasionally, the cookie sheet gets a big bump, water spills out, and very little works. The Great Depression and the Financial Crisis are examples. Water pours over the sides as wealth is evaporated and nothing (or almost nothing) works. (9/11)

Back when I was an analyst, I explained the markets as a cookie sheet filled with water. Normal market activity tilts the sheet, and the water runs to different corners/sides -- but it's the same amount of water so there is always some place to make money. The Dot-Com crash was like this. (8/11)

When the AI bubble bursts, I worry it will be more like the Financial Crisis than the Dot-Com Crash. Margin levels were comparable between the two, but not LEVERAGE. In the crisis and now, leverage is higher at hedge funds, private credit, and insurers with multiple trillions exposed. (7/11)

If it is "just" the AI version of the Dot-Com Crash, things are less bleak. Consumer Staples worked. Healthcare worked for a little while. Treasuries worked. Gold didn't. Financials did, but only in the context of falling interest rates (see above). (6/11)

We're pretty much left with grabbing as many $250,000 CDs as we can find so we can get return while having at least theoretical protection with FDIC insurance. (5/11)

One then thinks of bonds/treasuries, but in the Financial Crisis the Fed has room to rapidly slash rates. With GOP fiscal irresponsibility, the inflationary pressures of tariffs and war, and a bunch of AI-related bonds in the toilet, I'm not sure this works again. (4/11)

Gold might eventually work, but there is going to be a powerful need to raise cash to address margin calls/deleveraging as this market, and (probably) AI stocks in particular, are propped up with historic levels of leverage. Bitcoin won't work for the same reason. (3/11)

Under the Financial Crisis model, essentially nothing will work. Your choice is between smaller or larger losses. Where energy/utilities worked (briefly) last time, they are tied into the AI data center explosion and arguably won't work this time. (2/11)

What I don't understand is why prosecutors don't file criminal child abuse charges againts parents with children biologically capable of receiving the vaccine. The science is clear the vaccine is safe and effective. This is child endangerment, just as much as driving drunk with a child in the car.

Our problem used to be ideologial biases. Figuring them out WAS useful as it helped reach compromises for better governance. Now, The Other Side hates governance & hates everything America once stood for. I agree. I don't need to "do lunch" to know they only care about what enriches them.

Wht I don't understand is why prosecutors don't file criminal child abuse charges. The science is clear "raw milk" is harmful. It is child endangerment, just as much as driving drunk with the child in the car.

I have absolutely no sympathy for people who are willing to finance further concentration of media in the hands of the kleptocracy. None. I hope they go to junk and they choke on the losses. Shame on the banks who did the deal.

Greenspan's December hike targeted specifically to "speculators" in the market, combined with fraud from Microstrategy the following March broke the internet bubble. TBH, the 45% overnight decline in $MSTR was the greater of the two.

You should download all the plans, upload them into an AI, and see if it comes to the same conclusion as your spreadsheet work.

I love how all these AI jokers casually say, "add connectors". Anyone who has actually tried to do this knows the process is terrible and rarely works as advertised. Unless you're willing to throw six figures or more at it, AI is useful only as a search engine or something to bounce ideas off.

Classic Republicanism. They don't care unless it affects their personal pocketbook. They might care if it affects a close friend's pocketbook. This gets back to the fundamental difference between conservatives and liberals: Conservatives, at best, have sympathy. Liberals have empathy.

We need FDA/CHMP to create separate adult & pediatric labels. Pediatric SAEs showing up on adult labels is a huge disincentive for drugmakers to study successful adult drugs in pediatric populations. Combined with large legal liabliity exposure, you get situations like this.

Someone (!) in our friend group signed people up for AARP mailings in our early 40s. Much hilarity initially. Nearly 20 years later, we're all much better positioned for retirement. Turns out it was a bit of a wakeup call!

It's more than speed. This points out a very large flaw in Constitutional Separation of Powers: The Executive is responsible for enforcing laws and court decisions. The Constitution never contemplated this level of graft and treason combined with a Congress complicit in the crimes.

The Dividend Tax Cut was the tax policy change most damaging to the middle class. It incentivized taking on debt to increase dividends instead of product expansion and R&D.

When search engines became decent (Alta Vista), teachers banned use & forced students to use physical books, magazines, and encyclopedias because they were considered "valid". Internet sources were not. Instead, we should have taught critical research evaluation. Paying for it still.
