I have absolutely no sympathy for people who are willing to finance further concentration of media in the hands of the kleptocracy. None. I hope they go to junk and they choke on the losses. Shame on the banks who did the deal.

It's more than speed. This points out a very large flaw in Constitutional Separation of Powers: The Executive is responsible for enforcing laws and court decisions. The Constitution never contemplated this level of graft and treason combined with a Congress complicit in the crimes.

I have an ask: When scrolling social media and see posts of people being wonderful to each other, please save them. When the #BigBeautifulDay #FreeBeerDay happens, spam your saved posts. Signal the planet's happiness a major impediment to a happier world is gone.

I was a biz comms prof with a syllabus oriented on writing recommendations for mgmt. You failed two ways: 1. Bad writing, 2. Unsupported advice. Banning use of AI does students a disservice, just like banning search engine use was dumb back in the day. Profs need to suck it up & learn to teach it.

After 9/11, blue collar union workers held 24/7 vigil for weeks outside our local mosque to prevent vandalism. Islam was never the problem, Islamic extremists were. Extremism is the disease that brought 9/11 and it's infected religion and politics more than ever in the USA and Europe. #neverforget

Vaccine design also matters. Discrete Choice Experiments survey recipients about vaccine attributes influencing their immunization decisions. Once you hold long-term/serious safety constant, AEs affecting daily activity (G2, interfere & G3 prevent) are very influential.

RFK, Jr. doesn't get enough credit... for handing Trump the Presidency. Political predictions of the impact in November of an event in August are always a hand-wave, but if Junior doesn't drop out Trump probably doesn't win. While loyalty is rare in Trump-world, Junior earned it.

As someone who grew up with those cartoons, Coyote v Acme was a lovely treat. After seeing Seth McFarlane's "Die, Sweet Roadrunner, Die" several years back, it took a mental reset to really enjoy the movie.

And speaking of history repeating... I was around when Photoshop 1.0 came out and people declared it the end of "real" art. Over time, it just became another tool for artists. Excepting AI's ability to flat out steal art (as did Photoshop), AI will also become just another creative tool.

I know history always repeats itself, but (for the olds on here like me) aren't all the conversations about the AI bubble straight up reruns of the 2000 B2B bubble?

I remember learning about similar programs when I was in high school (1985). Successful then as now. Cheaper than most other aid approaches, but still uncommon. Would love to hear from knowledgeable folks as to why. (gift sub)

@bsky.app In your recent update, the code no longer gracefully handles the notifications and other columns for deactivated accounts. It hangs and drives up browser CPU cycles, resulting in the spinning "working" icon and ever-more-loud laptop fan noise. Using Firefox 153.0.4.

This is *SO* true, especially at this early stage of AI when there is no agreed-upon C/B/A for this. It's like early in the dot-com bubble when any miserable retailer got a stock bump when they announced a "web strategy" even when they had non-competitive products.

One more on the biotech sector. $BBC (basket of clin-stage biotech) has crossed the $IBB (pharma & big bio basket). This is traditionally a buy signal for biotech stocks. (We all used to use $XBI for this until its silly re-weighting, so now it's BBC).
