The image shows a valence electron deformation map of archaeal rubredoxin at 0.43 Ångström resolution: Refinement of the archaeal rubredoxin structure with the DiSCaMB transferable aspherical atom model (TAAM) library connected to BUSTER directly reveals quantum mechanical phenomena. The rubredoxin protein model (sticks) is surrounded by the electron density map (blue to red: low to high density). This valence electron deformation map derived from model refinement reveals electrons in the midpoint of chemical bonds and (valence) electron lone pairs.

Our paper on iClick synthesis of luminscent Ni(II), Pd(II), and Pt(II) complexes together with the first example of a long-lived emissive Ni(II) complex with a 148 ns lifetime at 77 K is now published in Inorg. Chem. @pubs.acs.org #chemsky
