Making a live-action version of animated source material isn't "adaptation". Comics and novels are fundamentally different mediums. Both animation and live-action are cinema. They are the same medium. It's more like a cover of a song, or a remake. It's the same medium, just stylized differently.

I was roasted online for saying the premise of the film Digger sounded atrocious. Now it's getting terrible reviews and I feel slightly redeemed.

I must sound fascinating to my neighbors. I assume I have a strong American accent in Spanish, but I've also adopted Uruguayan prounciation of words instead of generic Latin American, like the double-L being pronounced like "sh" instead of "y".

Mormons arguing that Jesus being in their faith would mean that they are Christians, would also mean that Muslims are Christians, too. Muslims believe Jesus was the Christ, the Messiah, and the most important prophet. Just not the son of God.

In the FASA TTRPG for Star Trek TOS+TAS they say that when officers are operating on the record, they are speaking a constructed language called Galacta. In private, they all switch to English, except Chekov. He and Uhura don't speak English natively, but Uhura is fluent.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles having "love interests" is... weird. There are no others of their kind. Any "love interest" would be a different species. Others of their species are... non-humanoid. So... it's beastiality, right? Gross. Besides... what does any of that add to the story?

I am opposed to the death penalty on principle. Using lethal injection or the electric chair is bullshit. The most humane ways to kill a person are hanging, guillotine, or a bullet to the brain. Oh, does that upset you? You don't want to do that? Then don't allow the state to assassinate people.

"Punk" is an old prison term for a man who receives anal sex. "Punk rock" essentially means "f*ggot rock". "Straight" used to mean "someone who adheres to the rules". Heteros are allowed to participate in punk spaces. But remember that this is a queer culture.

The fact that debate can performed competitively without the truth being relevant proves that debate is not a means to arrive at a truth. Being persuasive exists independently of what is actually true or right.

It wasn't great that in Star Trek TOS the Klingons were white actors in brown makeup. So in TNG they hired a Black man to play the main Klingon. Then every other Klingon was a white actor in brown makeup.

Saw a trans person object to being called "vulnerable", asserting that they could defend themself from violent attack. The rallying cry isn't "We should be capable of using violence to defend ourselves." The rallying cry is "We shouldn't have anything against which we are defending ourselves."

Someone on Reddit offended at renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America, because the lake is "named after the indigenous Ontario people". There is no nation called Ontario. In the Kanienʼkeha language, "ontiari'iyo" means "beautiful lake". Renaming it is offensive, but learn why.

It's weird how few people realize Itchy and Scratchy from the Simpsons - including recent Simpsons writers - that they were not meant to be earnestly entertaining. They were critiques of mindless violence on TV without stories or themes. They were supposed to upset and repulse you.

I love Cowboy Bebop, but it being set in 2071 is WILD WORK. It was made in 1998. That's 73 years, a little less than a single generous Human lifetime. Yet the cities and infrastructure on other worlds seem HUNDREDS of years old! It doesn't look like everyone just arrived.

My next fantasy TTRPG session will be ABOUT the mystery of the Boots of Infinite Gravy.
