People should be more aware of rhea birds AKA ñandus. They look a lot like ostriches, but they're not closely related. Ñandu are much smaller, most closely related to emus and kiwis, and are endemic to South America, specifically the grasslands of Uruguay.

Reza turns 15 in October. The past few weeks, he's had horrific stankmouth. It wasn't getting better, so I took him to the vet. No cavities, no sores. He has a slight bacterial overgrowth because normal cat food is too rich for him. He needs to be on senior cat food. Went home with 3 kilos.
