Grant Instruments is making a customised precision water bath, with 200 litre capacity, for a top UK university. For reference, that's the volume of a UK wheelie bin, as modeled by the charity runner below. DM me if you need unusual temp control solutions in your lab 🧪

Science doesn't stop for Christmas. Kudos if you're a Cold Room Queen, or Genetics Genie, tending to your experiments over the holidays. See if you can invent pure green, like this guy. 🧪

Chemistry in cells isn't like in buffer. Cells are crowded. Diffusion and reaction rates vary with temp. Accuracy is vital! Check your setup: +/-2C won't cut it. www.grantinstruments.com/product-grou... Mycoplasma genitalium image: Martina Maritan, Scripps Research. ccsb.scripps.edu/gallery/myco...

"I saw the crescent. You saw the whole of the moon" The Waterboys, 1985*. Bright full moon last night, even through cloud. Great corona effect not, quite caught by my phone. 🧪 *Look it up on Spotify. A belter of a tune for a Sunday morning.

Please don't thaw critical cell lines in water baths, Cillian! Grant Instruments' solid-state ❄️CRFT❄️ thaws cells (or anything else) gently, reproducibly, with no liquids to contaminate them. It also freezes to -100C, with exquisite control. All with less benchtop footprint than a water bath. 🧪
