Many people I follow call the timeline foot dragging. Many others say the system just can't move that fast when the potential defendant has enough money to spend on lawyers. Since you believe they slow walked it, can you point me to an example of an investigation that moved fast enough for you?

Of course. How else will the glorious people's revolution happen? They have to enable Republicans enough to turn the country into a hellhole so they can try to ride in and be our saviors.

Right now Republicans in Missouri are pushing a constitutional amendment to bad abortion and gender affirming care for minors, including puberty blockers. It's on the ballot for November. I'm voting against. What do you believe Democrats have done that makes you say they aren't universally better?

Back when I was a dev one of my favorite things to tell clients was, forget worrying about what's possible or practical, tell me what you really want and let me worry about how to make it happen. I swear clients always assumed easy things were impossible and difficult things were easy.

Maybe if we'd quit with the bullshit both sides are the same, voters would show up in the primaries? I've always been a political junkie and I've rarely missed an election, so I admit I don't really understand the apathy except to blame it on the both sides fabrications.

I know you're talking about the primaries. Primaries don't happen in a vacuum, and someone that has had 70% plus wins in the general isn't going to pull serious primary challengers, no matter how much you personally dislike him.

biboarderdude (he/him) @biboarderdude.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
I believe you're mistaken here. Schumer hasn't had a serious challenger because prior to 2022, he's always won with an absurd percentage of votes. In 2016 he was over 70%. In 2022 he was over 56% even. How do you convince a challenger to take that on? And why is that the party's job in your view?

This kind of elision is incredibly common in this debate. Any support for Israel is total support, and then Biden's mistakes in not getting Netanyahu to shift course is in itself damning, without articulating how, exactly, the US was supposed to move that needle, while denying any attempt to do so.

In Gaza, the humanitarian access barriers were almost entirely due to the IDF acting with our support, and Biden tried to navigate around this reality with absurd ideas like the floating pier rather than confronting the reality of the harms being caused by our full support of the IDF. 3/4

Of course Trump is worse. That in no way excuses Biden's failures. It's going to be worth reckoning with those failures more as the primary heats up because if the next dem admin brings in Biden's hacks like McGurk, Sullivan and Blinken they will fail again in the same ways.

If this graph is to scale there is no way data center construction is balancing out the massive falloff of other private construction.

Denver does get a surprisingly large fraction of its water from the western slope. Dillon Reservoir feeds Denver, as do several collection and diversion systems. These feed Denver through trans mountain bores that cross the divide.

You mean have I spent my own money and to make my support for trans kids publicly known in the real world? Yes, yes I have. But you can keep poasting about it if you think that's what's really important.

They are more attacking the amendment on abortion rights grounds, because that is more likely to resonate with more people. If you believe that means they are attacking trans kids, that's simply a perspective I don't believe reflects reality.

Republicans in Missouri are currently using trans kids as pawns to cover for their attempt to also remove abortion rights the people voted for, but do keep telling us that Democrats are the real anti-trans party.

Being a leftist and being a horrible person (or associating with them) aren't mutually exclusive. Bernie has told us over and over who he is and what matters to him. That so many refuse to see it has shades of MAGA and Trump.

It just seems laughable to compare Clinton lying about a consensual sexual activity to lying us in to the Iraq war. But I'm sure I'll just be called biased. I feel like the Obama Syria comparison is just as bad, but I'm not knowledgable enough to call that one out.

And even if it was, suggesting Ukraine roll over so fuel prices go down is contradictory to his own messaging that high fuel prices are an acceptable cost to keep Iran from having a nuclear weapon. And that doesn't even touch on his tearing up JCPOA and putting us in this position in the 1st place.
