80% of good photography comes down to this cheat sheet, the other 20% is composition and knowing how to light the subject.

Photography cheat sheet:
Exposure - keep the light meter at 0, under 0 will under expose the picture, over 0 will over expose it.
Aperture - smaller f stop means shallower depth of field, blurrier backgrounds, and brighter photos, larger f stop, larger depth of field, more focused background, and darker photos.
Shutter Speed - length of time the shutter is open, longer exposure = brighter, but blurs movement, shorter exposure = darker, but freezes action
ISO - lower number, darker but less visual noise; higher, lighter but more visual noise, use low in day time, high at night.
