Well, the single most predictable action of the Trump second presidency happened just a few hours ago. Trump signed an executive order that exempted Russia from all of the key possible sanctions that could have been placed on it by the Graham-Blumenthal bill.

Export bans aren’t that easy. USA isn’t that integrated of a market. Prices will fall along the gulf but an export ban could trigger price rises across the east and west coasts, where diesel is often imported from international markets (which will go up post a US ban)

ICE is bad. Foreign policy is bad. Lots of things are bad. The shut down should be defined by 1-3 objectives that poll 70-30. No compromise until Rs cave on those points. No compromise at all. Let the FAA allow the planes fall from the sky and see who gets the blame.
