Thank you so much for the kind words! My aim was a balance between the original and the remake with a pinch of personal touches sprinkled on top.

You need to get yourself some good armour if you intend to save the world. The shopkeeper might be a bit of a pig but he's got the goods you need. #spilledinktober #armor #traditionalart #wonderboy

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas! ❤️✨ I've been fighting with depression throughout most of the year, fueled daily by awful news of what's happening around the world. Being creative felt impossible at times, but still managed to throw together something here. Progress is progress no matter what 🙂

This story is infinitely more important than GTA getting delayed. Don't let me catch you moaning about waiting longer for a video game if you're not mad about why it happened.

But hey, at least I recognize it now and I'm starting to feel ready to do something about my situation. Getting out of the house more, trying to meet more people, get more sunlight, try to do less doom scrolling. So cheers to that at least.

I recently began to recognize that I've been suffering from depression for quite some time now due to the combination of being unemployed for almost half a year and most of the world seemingly going to utter shit. Everything's just been feeling pointless overall.

I feel like retro is very subjective and connected to a nostalgic era of youth and simpler times. Doesn't really matter how old it is from today, but rather how old I was. Dreamcast was the last fully retro system for me as somewhere along the PS2 era I grew up and changed into a more jaded "adult."

Well look at that! The tribute album Songs of the Great Sea by @pixelmixers.bsky.social is out, with album art by me! 😄 As a huge Wind Waker fan, I'm very happy to be a part of this. Available on just about every platform so you really have no excuse not to listen: album.link/s/4lxxPG4AA7...

Album art for the Zelda: The Wind Waker tribute album "Songs of the Great Sea" by Pixel Mixers. The art features Link conducting music while Medli, Makar and Tetra are playing music. This takes place on the open sea in the red, living boat Larry who is enjoying the music while possibly singing along. It has drawn the attention of a Fish man as well as Zephos, the giant wind frog.

This is the first system where I can't find 10 games to fill the list. So much focus on grey and samey games with gun-man protagonists. Every friend who owned a 360 had it break on them AT LEAST once. For me it was a good time to start investing into handhelds and retro games instead 😅

Alexander BG Berggren @bg87.bsky.social · 05/05/2025

While the PSP basically was my Falcom handheld, I sadly missed out on the Trails games on it. 1 Ys Oath in Felghana 2 P3P 3 Gurumin 4 Ys I & II 5 Tactics Ogre 6 Ys Ark of Napishtim 7 Puyo Puyo 20th Anniversary 8 Lumines 2 9 PixelJunk Monsters 10 Pix'n Love Rush

Absolutely brutal to pick just 10 DS games, not to mention order them in any sane way. This system's library of games might be the strongest I've ever come across in my life so far.

I would argue putting both clockwork knight games here is kinda like letting Sonic 3 and S&K take up two spots. They're basically two halves of the same game.

000

Alexander BG Berggren @bg87.bsky.social · 30/01/2025

This was a tricky one since it's been a good while since I used my Saturn now. Had to shuffle a lot of titles around until I got something that felt right in my heart. Shining the Holy Ark will always be my number 1 though.

The voting for The Top 10 Game Gear games is still going! Considering how few things get rereleased outside of Sonic, I’m not expecting much but if you do have experience with the handheld, please vote! (I had one as a kid but only owned 3 Sonic games and a Taz game. I’m part of the problem.)

Whoa! Just the idea of comparing RKA to those two is a bit of an insult. The sequel could arguably compare to that competition, but it would still take the win.

As I look back on Sonic X Shadow Generations i realise the one thing i appreciate the most is that they resisted the urge to shove in Zavok into the game. Good on you, Sega.
