I wrote an entire vent piece on tumblr about how if kids ignore all the tags and warnings ao3 authors put, that's on them and they should learn about consequences same as all previous generations did... I take it back. We need to kick the kids off ao3. ALL of them!

So, been rewatching contrapoints' 3h Twilight-guided analysis of erotic literature in a psicho-social context, thanks to sh0eonhead's recent commentary on female gooning (totally didn't feel called out), when I noticed this. So, um, I honestly don't like this current trend of defanging covers.

sounds like I could star in dark romance or smtg... I wonder if it was the chai or Pinkie Pie that gave me away 🤔

Tension Talking to Luna's father was no easy task for Nova. #FantasyIndiesJune #iowad_memes

8 Nova wouldn't admit her feelings even to herself (except for anger and lust, those don't pose any risks). Anything else, unless it's someone else's secret, she's quite the open book. #FantasyIndiesJune #iowad_memes

Magic snippet Nova has a penchant for playing with fire... and a personal history of growing up Romanian (hence the strange expressions and occasionally juicy swearing) #FantasyIndiesJune #iowad_memes

quote that says:

“How angry would she get about her things being touched… or broken?” I interrupted him, eyeing a particularly valuable looking vase. If she hoarded things, she cared about them, right?

“You can’t break them. You can’t even steal them,” he grinned, unphased by the interruption. “Her magic is strongest around hoard.”

“What happens if I try, though?” I insisted. “Do I lose fingers, or anything like that?” Wouldn’t she come running to investigate? I sure would… one cheek to the sky and one to the ground…

‘What the hell does that mean?’ Cera picked on my choice of words again… her culture sure could work on tales and metaphors a little…

‘Pissed off… it means I'd be rushing over very pissed off.’

What do you see? 6. Something I hold dear My 1st poster ever, featuring Thallus and a special mantis... Made a few last year when my friends put coin together to get me a new tablet to draw on. Loved hearing the different interpretations each gave the painting. #FantasyIndiesJune #iowad_memes

Maya (from my current project) for pride month this year 💖 I need to design her future girlfriend sometime.... wrote her long ago, just never got to draw her. Tried the same painting last year too but failed miserably... this year went much better :3 #pridemonth2025 #pride #iowad #bfmn_art

Woman on motorbike, in full leather suit. Her hair is dark blue, eyes yellow, bronzed skin. Lesbian pride flag behind her, her name (Maya) and a sk3tch of a jaguar (her shifted form)

Jackie Zen @bfmn.bsky.social · 04/06/2025

Bonus Maya She is a makeup artist, insanely good at it. But she can also wield any long range weapons with little to no accommodation time needed. Pebbles count too. There was a draft where she had a rifle to prove it... don't mess with her is what i'm saying.

Jackie Zen @bfmn.bsky.social · 04/06/2025

Chase has many... private talents... this is an adult fantasy after all, they all have some... Less commonly known is that he can learn kinetic skills easily. As long as he understands what he's seeing, he can learn a dance by just watching. Nova is very salty about this.

021

Jackie Zen @bfmn.bsky.social · 04/06/2025

Continuing on this because I love talking about my blorbos and who's gonna stop me? Thallus was not allowed any hobbies, growing up, but he's found ways around it. Nobody knows, but he's the actual person behind a lot of very popular songs in his world... he composes them in his head. No instruments

011

Jackie Zen @bfmn.bsky.social · 04/06/2025

I'd argue she's not the MC but It's through her eyes that you'll meet the world, so Nova has a much finer hearing than she thinks, and can read people's emotional responses instinctively. Doesn't always makes sense of them, but it would be too easy if she did. #fantasyindiesjune #iowad_memes

Almost a year after writing 'In the saddle', I realize that the farmhouse lady is also using the saddle for personal adventures (she knows it's haunted and warns the pov character to stay away if she hears any ungodly noises). And yes, I am aware I typed this hint in with my own fingers.
