Keep in mind that the jury is still out on the question of whether or not intelligence is an evolutionary advantage.

Those wind turbines are mind boggling pieces of engineering for many reasons. Those 'tiny' hubs that rotate to face the wind are the size of a bus! At least in the area I'm in, the underground foundation is a concrete slab a couple of metres thick and about the same diameter as the blade circle!

Personally, I knew the undocumented instructions were there, but never bothered to use them. The rare case where one of them was useful to me was more than outweighed by the hassle of getting my assembler to accept them.

If you kill someone, you spend a long time in jail. I On the other hand, if you kill someone with a car, you get a slap on the wrist. What happens if you kill a police officer with a car?

The only way a Toronto busway could be made obsolete by a subway would be if they gave the subway construction a decade or so head start.

It would be nice if Americans understood why Canadians don't want to visit. That's unlikely to happen, so I'll settle for them just shutting up about it.

If those are scrap, there's a front surface mirror in the projectors, and a nice big fresnel lens too. Oh, and anyone working with electronics would appreciate that Weller desoldering station that's sitting on top of the pile.

14000 jobs, but only for the year or so it takes to build the pipeline. After that, maybe a dozen or so permanent jobs. And that's only if the project is a success. Given current global trends, that's far from assured.

Car dealerships are not doing illegal modifications. Ebike shops are. That said, there should be speed limiters on cars Even better would be to have the cars automatically limit the speed to whatever the speed limit is where they are driving. That way 100K in a 40K school zone would be impossible.

GO is not 'adjusting' service on the Kitchener line. They're shutting it down. The short stretch that isn't shut down completely is pretty much useless as Brampton Transit and the TTC provide better alternatives for most people.

At a 1 amp charge current, it would take over two minutes to charge to one volt. Over two hours to fully charge with that current. I suspect the peak discharge current has significant digits left of the decimal point!

We are also learning that the United states cannot be trusted. We are better off avoiding dependence on them if at all possible.

By the time that trail opens, you could take the GO train from Georgetown to downtown Brampton, the Hurontario LRT from Brampton to Square One, and then a MiWay bus the rest of the way :-)

The 2025 figure for Canada in that chart was around 16 million. At the end of the chart, the number is down to under 8 million. That looks to me like tourism to the USA is down by a whole lot more than just 2 million. If that track keeps going, tourism to the USA might get down _to_ 2 million!

Transit needs to be - - frequent enough that I can plan my trip around MY schedule, not the TTC's - at the stop when the schedule says, not plus or minus 20 minutes. - fast enough that walking or even cycling becomes the slower option

The key TTC items for me are frequency, reliability, and speed. The TTC is failing badly on all three.

It's what you get when you combine a political push for more residents to create a bigger city with an entrenched NIMBY class that refuse to allow anything to be built near their precious single family homes.

Part of the reason DTL was abandoned for TTL is speed. That might cause problems in a video circuit.

The Pilgrims landed in what is now Virginia. They typically get the first frost of the winter around Nov 7th. Toronto Canada usually expects the first frost somewhere around September 23rd, a full six weeks before Frost reaches Virginia.

That depends on where you are a farmer. The growing season lasts about a month longer in the US southwest than it does in Canada, thus their celebration of a good harvest is also about a month behind Canada's

The USA isn't much different from most countries in that respect. They have a legal system, not a justice system. The system enforces the law. If that happens to result in justice being done, that's a happy accident at best.

Leave a set of pads for the amplifier and connect to currently unused pins for VCC and Vout. If all you need is a crystal, don't populate the amplifier. If you do need an oscillator, add the amplifier and away you go.

Grand Teton is hours away from anything resembling a major population center. Where exactly do they expect to get enough fans to fill the stadium? Now how many of those will come back several times a week to keep the stadium profitable?

Just out of curiosity, how much human testing has been done on vaping vitamin B12? I seem to recall a lot of news from a couple of years ago about the 'harmless' Vitamin E acetate essentially destroying lungs when vaped.
