Data Centers **CAN** be built to be community assets rather than burdens. We just need to use the competition for siting in our communities to drive community concessions as they are built. The difference in cost amortized over the life of the data center isn't a problem.

This week's economics lesson is interesting. Even higher interest rates + falling crude prices can't save Trump from inflation. He has a choice to make: - keep fighting Iran and let his supporters eat inflation - stop fighting Iran and let diesel and inflation drop Such binary choices are rare.

Diesel fuel in the US doesn’t come from Russia. We refine 96% of it ourselves, import 4% from Canada, per the DoE’s own statistics. Ukraine hitting Russian refineries only helped world oil prices trend *down* until Trump attacked Iran, by causing a glut of crude, as price records show:

Russia diesel exports halted in 8/26. This diesel price spike is a direct result of reduced Middle Eastern refining/transport caused by Trump's attack on Iran. Ukraine hitting another Russia refinery doesn't change Russian diesel exports, but it will bring the end of war and normalization closer.
