Paxton has literally terrorized the queer community in Texas as AG. Therapists can now lose our license for talking to a family about going out of state to get the care they want for their teenager, which is INSANE. We have to reverse these fascist policies & this is the guy that can do that.

I don’t remember a cold front w/coming rain that we ever earned more than we’ve earned the one coming in now. I’m not one to get seasonal depression, but I absolutely was dragging & low & frustrated as that insane heat dome relentlessly beat us down. I’m feeling lighter today, tho. So damn ready.

I’m so cynical about this rain after this oppressive unrelenting heat I’m like unconsciously refusing to get excited until I see it & hear it. This state has me hedging big time 😩 I might go dance in it I’ll be so damn relieved.

One of the most enraging things I’ll ever hear as a clinical social worker was the story of a client being repeatedly r*ped in college by a “friend” & finally getting the nerve to tell their mutual male friends & the response to this traumatized young person was “what do you want us to do about it?”

As a social worker who would not be living the professional dream I am living had I not had access to student loans, I have so many thoughts & opinions on this administration eliminating access to loans for majors whose professions they deem "don't pay enough".

I just saw a Waymo stopped on Oak Lawn, in the far right lane, but not at an intersection, & two people had to cross busy ass Oak Lawn ave w/no crosswalk, and enter into the car, one of them having to stand in the street and open the car door to get in, while oncoming traffic slowed to not hit her.

As a queer therapist I often get calls from parents whose teen just came out as trans, & their response is "Well, ok. I love you and I'll always support you, but I don't know anything about this, so let me see if I can find a therapist to help." And I have to pause & not get choked up on the phone.
