BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 12/07/2026Yup, I came home today to a storage box on my balcony pushed a few feet from its original location. It has never moved before. No harm done, but speaks to the strength of the wind. 010
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 09/07/2026Hummm, would buy a Chapman branded custom storage container. Just saying. 000
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 09/07/2026Aaaarrgghh, why do so many people have to strawberry their rhubarb? Embrace the sour, leave strawberries for shortcake. Well, that may be yucking your yum a bit, sorry, but I am passionate about not mixing the two. 330
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 09/07/2026I adore rhubarb, and rhubarb compote with vanilla ice cream is heavenly. Just please, please, please make it gluten-free so we celiacs can partake, it broke my heart that the butter tart flavour is "may contain wheat" 140
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 08/07/2026I like having access to electricity and water. This sucks. 021
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 06/07/2026So far, with a little judicious blocking, I am finding the folk there diverse and delightful. The moderation to keep things civil is real, really enjoying a chronological feed. To date, no to very little "content providers" and folk looking to monetize. Emphasize is on engagement and interaction. 010
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 02/07/2026Jen, have you considered joining Gander Social? It is now open to all Canadians and oatmeal socialism would fit right in. 110
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 21/06/2026Avoid the underpass on Wye Road and 34 St. It is flooded. Made it through ok, but by cautious hydroplaning. Oh, and NoFrills has bacon on for $4 a package. 130
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 31/05/2026What you said, he can take his fascist dreams elsewhere 010
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 21/05/2026What if their religion is paganism? Or they worship Satin (outright and not just the pretend Maga guy). Or any religion other than their version of "Christan"? 000
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 21/05/2026Sigh, nothing, even with my hardest search, this tester has nada. 110
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 09/05/2026Had leftover cheddar cheese and jalapeno so made a variation on Brazilian cheese balls. 000
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 03/05/2026More than that, they are delaying and mucking up our future 020

BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 28/04/2026Yup, I am a Gander Beta tester. The app is still buggy, but such a refreshing place to be. Love it. I spend very little time on other apps now. 140

BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 24/04/2026The only good thing about spring snow is how quickly it goes away. Once it stops snowing, that is. 110
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 21/04/2026Yes, as a person who worked helping people fill out those forms anything to make them seem more user friendly would be great. Of course this was a few years ago, and I left so hard I have no idea what they look like now. 020
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 21/04/2026Once upon a time I worked for the RTDRS (Residential Tenancy Dispute Resolution Service). My goal was to help people through the process. Unfortunately some of my collegues forgot that purpose; especially as applicants often expected it to be hard, so were very hard to help. If that makes sense? 110
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 10/04/2026Makes sense to me too. Some of the best I had about a year ago was at The Next Act here in Edmonton. Was surprised it was gluten-free, and delicious. Oh and the fries were also made in a gluten-free environment, so win win. Not sure if they still do that, but would be nice. 020
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 01/04/2026Can't stand or understand HeyCafe, too confusing and wants you to pay subscription fees. Am on Gander and love it. Guess they really are different strokes for different folks. 100
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 01/04/2026Thanks for the quick reply. Yes I did the update and all was well, until it wasn't. Back now and it was not just me that fell into a void, there was a glitch of some sort. The thought of having to start from scratch was not appealing. 010
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 01/04/2026And of course the minute I asked you it alllll came back. Oh the joy of Beta. 020
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 01/04/2026@cougsta.bsky.social can I ask you a davour? My Gander has blanked out, no posts at all. Is it working for you? 200
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 28/03/2026Already there. There are a few folk I would like to invite if they are not there by the time this happens though. And thanks Cougsta, it is thanks to you I found Gander, my new addiction. 010
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 25/03/2026The DNA results say paternal line from Central Scotland & Northern Ireland and Munster, Ireland. I used Ancestry to start a family tree, got as far as Grandma's grandparents, her granddad was from Armagh, Northern Ireland. Suggestions from this line for further ancestors suggest folk from Munster. 110
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 25/03/2026Most of it, but 3% of the 18% mixed Scot and Irish and 1% of the 2% straight Irish was from Dad. Makes sense, Grandma occasionally liked to tease Granddad by reminding him she was part Irish. 100
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 24/03/2026Today's bake; mini-loaf banana bread with added cocoa powder and chocolate chips. 020
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 24/03/2026Might want to throw in the Saskatchewan premier as well. 100
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 19/03/2026Spring is hovering about for sure. It has been raining here since the middle of the night, and it is now mid morning. 010
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 17/03/2026According to DNA testing I am 20% Irish (and northern Scottish). So I guess the least I can do is wear green on St. Paddy's day? 121

BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 06/03/2026It took about three weeks for me to get the invitation, then another 2 weeks to be able to get a second invitation because I gad not signed up with my Playstore email, and the beta is by invitation only. But so far enjoying tge app, so, worth it? 120
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 04/03/2026That is me. I realized later I put you in my nest instead of following you. Done both now. 010
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 03/03/2026@bethmckinley.gander.social signed up for this and Eh! today, and was able to use my preferred handle for both. Lucky me. And, thanks 110
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 03/03/2026Hi there, wave wave wave wave. Am now following you on Gander, both the regular and mean and nasty version. 100
BethMcK @bethmckinley.bsky.social · 03/03/2026Quite the day for signing up to Canadian social media feeds for me today. First got my Gander invite and successfully signed up, then signed up to Eh! And my preferred user name was available on both, so lucking out today. 020
