Oh yes that is weird! The scam I was thinking of is usually sent to a non-famous author, claiming to be from a famous author. There are so many scams now, I've been getting a lot of book club ones recently. Always full of flattering & specific praise, clearly AI generated, often very long.

I looked on the Authors Guild community chat boards when I got a few emails purporting to be from famous authors, and people there said that if you engage with the senders they recommend (presumably fake) book marketers. AG website has lots of info on this and the many other scams targeting authors.

Spain's renewables build-out has structurally decoupled its electricity prices from gas markets. Gas now sets the price in only 15% of hours, compared to 90% in Italy. Countries that invested early in clean power are far less exposed to fossil fuel price shocks. Those that didn't now pay the price.
