My dog's love playing in snow! It's so refreshing when it's bitingly cold but bright and sunny 😍Making time for headspace is so important, even when you feel like you have no time. #breathe #edusky

This vocab quad is a great way of bringing vocab level activities in to the classroom, they work well for #EAL learners and also those with lower levels of literacy. Focusing learners on the language rich activities promotes a greater depth of understanding for all. #EduSky #EALeduSky

One of my sessions looks at how to we develop EAL learners into skilled readers; strategies and ideas to use (benefitting all learners). Scarborough’s Reading Rope helped us break down what makes a skilled reader and then plan scaffolds and interventions around that. Follow me for tips! #edusky #EAL

Scarborough's Reading Rope activity created by delegates, helps to visualise what readers need to become skilful readers.

Last week I talked about EAL Vs SEN. Often schools raise SEN concerns EAL but many things can lead to slow progress. The learning environment, their educational experience, their proficiency, the support...BUT some EAL learners do have SEN so it’s important to have robust EAL assessment! Ealstar.co..uk
