Inspired to see Cree MP Mandy Gull-Masty named as Minister of Indigenous Services Canada in the new cabinet. For the first time, an Indigenous person will head the department charged with providing services for First Nations, Inuit and Métis in Canada. #cdnpoli www.aptnnews.ca/national-new...

Delighted to see @mark-carney.bsky.social choose to reinstate WAGE in his new cabinet, reaffirming gender equality as a priority for this government. Best of luck to @rechievaldez.bsky.social as she begins her new role as Minister of Women and Gender Equality! #cdnpoli #WAGE #LGBTQ2S

Terrifying that the USA is attacking access to gender affirming healthcare... doubly concerning that they're encouraging transphobes to target Canadian doctors who provide this essential healthcare The Breach (@breachmedia.ca) bsky.app/profile/brea... #TransRights

One of the very few re-elected NDP MPs posted on Twitter that she found out Don Davies is her party's interim leader "through the news." Yikes. It also doesn't help that they picked a white dude and didn't even bother to tell his colleague, who is an Indigenous woman...
NDP MP Leah Gazan tweets "Great finding out through the news.... Go "team" NDP," responding to a post that reads: "Don Davies is the new NDP interim leader, formerly a labour movement lawyer with the Teamsters, now the MP for Vancouver Kingsway"

Former NDP MP Rachel Blaney replies to Leah saying: "Not unexpected. Love you Leah Gazan"

@bsky.app really feels like old Twitter and I'm loving it! I used to post regularly on Twitter before it became X and was taken over by right wing trolls. Now it's so toxic I won't even open the app. I hadn't opened it in a while, and this is what my notifications looked like: Stop pushing PP!
Seven consecutive notifications on X (formerly Twitter) about conservative leader Pierre Poilievre going live. No other live feeds or content featured in this image.

Disappointing to see Conservatives claim voters didn't "understand" Poilievre or were "misinformed" about his hateful, "anti-woke" messaging. You can't claim to support 2SLGBTQ+ peoples while also claiming to only be aware of "two genders". Voters understood PP - and voted against him. #cdnpoli

Interesting research on the federal election and social media engagement across parties and platforms (pun intended) 🤓 Seems like Conservatives are on X, Liberals are on BlueSky, and NDP on TikTok 🤷‍♀️ Thankfully, 3/4 people still do trust the polls [Elections Canada] 🗳️ www.cdmrn.ca/weekly-updat...

Glad to see the City of St. John's talking about getting rid of X! I gave up on Twitter even before it became X, but Bluesky is giving me hope - plus a feeling of nostalgia and deja vu from how early Twitter used to feel. Let's get more of #nlpoli on @bsky.app !
