I think it's really hard to figure out who is using it in a valuable way and who isn't but then trying to give different budgets to different users would also piss people off. I really don't think there's a good answer for this and I'm dealing a lot with token FinOps in my role supporting research.

Yeah plus I just think this dismissiveness of her from 2020 is wrong. I knocked on over 1000 doors for Bernie in 16, but I really believed that Warren could have been the consensus progressive / leftist choice and got traction if he never ran.

I think if you want to point to 2020 for anything it is that people value electability, in as much as they estimate it, above literally everything else. Warren was basically everyone's second choice, and for many I spoke to knocking on doors she was only second because they only cared about winning.

I replaced my 2016 Kia Soul with a 2023 Kia Soul and it being a new car made it feel like a luxury and I don't understand why people think they're too good for a new Kia Soul. I say this as a man who is over 6 feet tall, it's comfy as hell and is a great car for the city.

I think my favorite thing about American Dad is that in the later seasons it just randomly drops a pretty heavy dramatic episode about the characters. Francine going to the gym is funny, but also a really great dramatic character episode of television.

Back when I was stage hand i got to work the Blue Collar Comedy Tour and after building the stage and getting everything set up him and another of the comedians just hung out shooting the shit us for like 10 min. I don't think you're wrong, but I also think that's a symptom more of the disparities of income and quality of education and communities throughout the country. Another bias but I went from rural schools to DoD schools and that really convinced me of the need to nationalize a lot of this.

I think having this as a national program and culture shift to better help young people be successful and serve their community is important. my very very bleak perspective is that this is a bigger cultural consequence of good cultural changes, but that I worry we're going to see a variation of what has happened in Israel where all the well meaning liberals who wanted peace stopped having kids and the demographics now are totally fucked.
