#TombTuesday Coed Y Glyn Neolithic burial chamber, Tyn-y-Gongl, Ynys Môn. The construction is unusual, the capstone appears to have been levered from the bedrock and propped up by low stones at its outer edge. The capstone has broken into three pieces and rests above a partially collapsed chamber.

I spent the Easter weekend over in Ireland visiting a number of Neolithic sites, so for today's #TombTuesday here's the hugely impressive Brownshill Portal Tomb with its massive capstone. I really liked this place, it seemed to have a gravity all of its own within the landscape.

Today's local site for #TombTuesday; Coed-y-Glyn burial chamber, Tyn-y-Gongl, Anglesey. The construction is unusual as the capstone appears to have been levered from the bedrock and propped up by low stones at its outer edge. Bones and other unspecified relics were found in the nineteenth century.

For #TombTuesday my local site, Pant-y-Saer burial chamber. According to Wikipedia, a 1912 investigation in the chamber found the remains of 54 people of all ages and sexes, including 9 new-born babies. I often think of these people and their lives when I visit with the dogs.

Beautiful Nanda Devi, 26/07/2006 - 15/11/2022. 2nd anniversary of an extraordinary and bittersweet reunion with our Bengal queen who went missing for 12 years and was reunited with us for 3 days before passing peacefully in our arms. Buried next to her brother Ambar, she will never be forgotten ❤️
