Had my eye on Azaran for a while now and it makes no bones about its influence (I wouldn't know anything about that). I think it is genuinely excellent and feels like a lost N64 project that was decompiled for 2025. Really recommend trying out the demo. store.steampowered.com/app/3769110/...

environments in my game are all "unlit" - only Zayd's model responds to lights in the scene. The sides of the blocks are simply a darker material, the pit fades to black using vertex colors, and the glowing ring is just a material that ignores fog

The shiny bodysuit/armor works by slapping on a black/white gradient texture and applying it based off of mesh normal reflection from the camera. You can change its scale and values from a remap node to fine-tune the effects intensity. Shoutout to @benjigamedev.bsky.social for helping me find this!
