What are the principles of prototyping?
When designing services, many of the things we need to test are intangible: policies, processes, conversations, operating models. Therefore…

How do you document #discovery outputs publicly? It’s something we strive for. As a result of an extended discovery on free school meals in Germany, the team—including @joseernestorodriguez.com— created a comprehensive project page to share all the insights & learnings: www.but.digitalservice.dev
A person sitting in front of a laptop, the screen of which displays the project website. Under the heading ‘Recommendations in six areas of action’, the individual areas of action are listed and described.

On the acceleration of #policy timelines: “Compared to previous legislative terms, the time elapsed from draft to adoption has almost halved.” @thomashemmelgarn.bsky.social in a panel discussion on time in #policymaking at #PolyFutures with @simonecarrier.bsky.social

Too often, new regulations can’t be implemented smoothly or fully digitally, creating bureaucracy and frustration instead of relief. The Center for Legal Drafting (Zentrum für Legistik) is ready to change that. Here we shed light on how we approach this work: digitalservice.bund.de/blog/wie-wir...

A blog post soon in the making: In March, @beliebig.eu and I will be writing about open roadmaps and route maps, why they matter, and how to do them. We might also touch on design patterns for publishing such maps. We will be building on some work from @rossferg.bsky.social, of course.

Just because people work in sprints and think they are ‘ #agile ’ doesn’t mean that they work iteratively. It’s pretty impressive with what level of confidence government colleagues insist they work in such a way, while their practice remains pretty waterfall-like.
