i keep getting the feeling that i’m underutilising my phone as i only use it for messaging or scrolling bsky

jotchua, the golden retriever puppy on the screen of a flip phone. there are strong rings emanating from the phone and upon contact with a crying child transforms them into a copy of jotchua. the scene is horrifying and there is a telephone mast in the background

just completed my bikepacking trip from paris to bordeaux

28mm colour photograph of my bike parked in a small french town, the street has bunting flapping in the wind and the buildings have ivy and cracks growing across them, in the background is the town church

28mm black and white photograph of a boat full of dirt stranded on a ramp leading down to the Loire river between Orleans and Tours, the river is very low and the ground marshy

28mm black and white photograph of three sheep at the final campsite. the sheep are partitioned by a tree trunk as the two on the left are grazing, and the biggest sheep smiling(?) into the camera with its eyes closed

28mm black and white photograph of a tiny dog sticking its head out from behind a barred windowsill

my friend invited me over to his house and i finally got to meet his cat, Leo!

Leo, my friend’s beautiful bengal cat popping in from the right hand side of the 50mm photo, and looking directly into the camera. Weekly Fuji recipe was the Universal Superia 200, which gives a strong green tint to the image and crushed blacks, was indoor lighting.

am i stupid or surely the answer to private accounts is by hosting your own PDS for you and your friends, so people who are part of your server can see your posts but you just dont propagate it to other bsky data servers?

visited brooklands museum but i only took pics of the stuffed toys

50mm black and white photo of a mechanics workshop in Brooklands Museum, in the foreground is a motorcycle which used to race at silverstone, and behind is a workbench with files, clamps, and assorted knickknacks. under the workbench is a cuddly toy dog, which looks very cute sitting patiently poking his head out of shadow

50mm black and white photo of a cuddly toy bear sitting on the wing of a Vimy bomber in Brooklands Museum. This plane flew from England to Australia in 1919 during the Great Air Race!

another weekend in london this time hanging around the City. definitely want to go back with my film camera and a tripod as we’re getting to that time when everything is getting bleaker

23mm black and white photo of a street corner in london covered in graffiti. there’s a mix of tags, throw ups, and murals but prominently are two pieces from King Mul, a favourite artist of mine and i was very happy to see his work unexpectedly!!

23mm black and white photo taken inside the crypt of the John Soane museum, two japanese lion dogs sitting within an internal wall frame? backlit by light coming in from the ceiling

50mm cropped black and white photo of reflections of the Lloyd’s building in London, the reflections get more distorted towards the top of the image, changing the ordered concrete outcropping into various twisted shapes. The distortion of the rooms and confusing of the staircase kind of reminds me of the 2020 era of AI images? Where it’d spit out images that look like something until you look closer, and the more you interrogate it the more it looks like nothing at all

23mm black and white photo of the Lloyd’s building from street level. The ducting for the building is done on the outside and the whole building looks more like something you’d see in Naoya Hatakeyama’s Lime Works series

one thing i wish was less daunting to people is running a home server, it’s incredibly easy to run a VPN to your house so you can access self hosted websites for photos, budgeting, file storage, etc
