Something I'll do if I want to remember where I took a picture is to also take a snapshot with my phone so I can go back and look at exif data for date/time/location.

I went to the Sanctuary in fall 2006 to see mc chris but I got the dates mixed up and didn't end up seeing him that time. This is such a "the more things change, the more they stay the same" moment lol

This was 7:47 this morning. No clouds, only smoke.

The sun in the sky, glowing red because of all the wildfire smoke in the air.

I unironically use this when I show up to events lol

The plate is framed with a Detroit Lions plate holder that covers the word Mississippi except for the bottom of its stylized s's. The car is in the right lane of eastbound I-94 at the Cass Avenue overpass in Detroit. The Woodward Ave / John R exit is up ahead.

Underground Cable (fun fact: this is still the number to call in Michigan but now you can also dial 811 as a shortcut!) Dearborn, Michigan June 2026 --- #DigitalPhotography #VintageSign #MichiganBell #Michigan #Telephone #MaBell #OldSchool #Nostalgia #Canon #StillLife

A vintage metal sign that says, "Warning Underground Cable" and below that, "Before digging in this vicinity call toll free, Michigan Bell Tel. Co., Tel 800-482-7171"

I've seen plenty of signs end up at Arts and Scraps on the east side. It's an art centric thrift store. They would have loved getting these as a donation.

Wait, it's a *cell phone tower*?!? Lmao I thought it was some kind of weird agricultural water tower. I guess that makes just as much sense lololololol

Everything about this post is cracking me up. I also wonder what the fuck it is every time I pass it lmao

Why can't my photographs transfer, organize, edit, caption, and share themselves? 😭

Probably an unpopular opinion within my social circle, but I love the Woodward Dream Cruise. I grew up with it and loved hearing the revving engines from my house. I also believe it's more fun when you know someone who has classic cars and lets you ride in them!

Slowly turning my living room into the Black Lodge from Twin Peaks.

A photograph of pleated red curtains taken from a side angle so they look bigger on the left and get smaller as they go on.

I'll be hosting a walking tour of Poletown East on Sunday, June 28th @ 10 AM. It'll go until 11:30, when Mass at St. Hyacinth starts, and that's where the tour will end. All are welcome to join Mass. Even if you aren't religious (I'm not), the interior is worth sitting through service to see, IMO!

I am finding that adjusting the lighting and contrast in post creates some very interesting, creative results that I actually do like. I'm working on getting over the frustration of photos not being as crisp as I like because, again, this is a shitty upcycled 35mm point and shoot lens.

Becklo is living the dream @becklo.com · 10/06/2026

The real fun in it is how much the photos look like a special kind of 1990s vintage. It reminds me of when I had a 120 pocket film camera in like... 1996. It's hit or miss and if the photos look cool, it's because of composition and luck more than anything.

Becklo is living the dream @becklo.com · 10/06/2026

I'm doing a late night photo dump of pictures I've taken with a lens that was made from an upcycled disposable film camera lens, like what you'd buy at a drug store. The results have been interesting. I went into it with high hopes and I quickly learned I had to calm my expectations.

I've been having a lot of fun with this oreo lens I got from Aliexpress LOL It's a plastic disposable camera lens housed onto a cap that fits your own camera, so the pictures ARE gonna be low quality but I think it's such a vibe, the photos spark joy hehe 😌 #photography #oreolens

The thing about using a fixed lens that you can't focus is that if you shoot from inside your car, your windshield WILL betray you and show how dirty it is.

One of my favorite photos is of my friend Derek here on Fort St. The Ambassador Bridge is in the background with trucks backed up waiting to cross into Windsor, Ontario, because that's what trucks on the bridge do. Detroit, Michigan October, 2008 --- #Photography #NightPhotography #Sunset

A teenage boy stands on a yellow and red fire hydrant. He is wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. His right arm is parallel to his body and his left hand rests on his stomach. There is a vibrant sunset behind him that is a dark purple to peachy shade of pink at the top and gradually becomes a vibrant yellow closer to the horizon. The blue of headlights from a car passing by is the best indication that the dark space to the right is a road. In the background is the silhouette of the Ambassador Bridge leading to Windsor, Ontario, Canada. There are multiple semi trucks on the bridge.
