This is really very very good. Fan-led writing is so good sometimes, and this is one of the best current examples.

Other people have already made this point but it's a good one. If City are deducted so many points that they are effectively relegated, they'll just rest their players for the cups and Champions League and be fresh for those, PSG style. This whole season is a mess of their doing.

Complete side note, but one that just made me chuckle. You're Sports Interactive, preparing to release FM27 in November. What exactly do you do now? Usually the game is only outdated at the end of the season. Not this time.

This season is already a wreck. City will appeal before Friday's deadline, and the 12 week appeal will run to January. Only then will the sanctions been determined, which they will also appeal against. What do even the next few months look like? There's a giant asterisk over the whole league.

Joe Hart: "My honest opinion is I've got no reason not to trust Khaldoon Al Mubarak. What he said is enough for me." I think this is disqualifying for his punditry career.

Thinking more on this - I genuinely think the scale of City's punishment may ultimately land with the EFL. It's almost a given now that City are being relegation, whether via points or expulsion. The next question is what the EFL do.

What's really interesting is the panel absolutely hammered City on their lack of cooperation. City's response is to double down. That Trumpian tactic really isn't going to work here. But then the alternative is to admit guilt, and they aren't going to do that either.

Three things are required, at a bare minimum: - Titles stripped - Massive points deduction - Forced ownership change Originally, I thought we'd get one or two of these. Now, looking at the scale, I'm not even sure it'll stop at these three. It's an astronomical subterfuge.

Just look at these figures. £830m of extra revenue via disguised ADUG input. £830 million of cheating. It's difficult to think of any way a legal sanction will ever be enough.

The problem with this country is that Burnham's speech is full of some really good ideas and plans, but tomorrow all the right wing press will be screaming that he's going to take away pensions.

I thought people were exaggerating when they said that Bernando Silva tried to hurt Odegaard last night. They weren't exaggerating. It was 100% deliberate. And you can tell from Odegaard's reaction that he knows it too. streamain.com/en/TSlQ0k6rd... Odegaard is now injured. Great.

What has really struck me this morning is that much of the club writers are doing a better job reporting on City than some of the bigger journalists, many of whom are making glaring errors. Some are misrepresenting appeals rules, the plank on Sky is referencing the UEFA case as a City defence...

So if the Premier League complete tomorrow, then City have until 10th October to appeal, the deadline for the appeal to end is 2nd January, and the written reason published no later than 1st February. That's the weekend of they play Arsenal in the league.

In fact...not *that* long.
According to the Premier League rulebook, the appeal process has a stricter time frame, whereby any party who wishes to appeal a decision by a judicial panel must do so by email within 14 days of a decision being announced. Under rule W.86 any hearing should conclude no longer than 12 weeks after the first appeal is submitted. Any decision by the appeal board must also be published, alongside full written reasons, within 30 days of the conclusion of the hearing.

Even putting aside the financial charges, 35 charges were related to being uncooperative in the investigation. Imagine doing that in any organisation ever - you'd be booted just for that. And they're guilty of it at least 34 times (we don't know what the one unproven charge is yet).

I genuinely don't see another option for the Premier League than expulsion, whether directly (hard to do in-season) or via a massive points deduction. That's likely a two-year punishment in total (one to go down, one to come back up) Anything less will look incredibly weak now (and they know it).

This is a key point many are missing. The Premier League brought the charges in the first place. They went hard and that shows a hell of a lot of intent on their side.

Possibly the most robbed team is actually Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool. Without City's now-confirmed cheating, they'd have had a five year dynasty to speak about. This is bigger than one club being affected. It's Lance Armstrong-Tour de France levels.

The investigations/charges only go up to 2018 but make no mistake: everything - absolutely everything - that City have done in the years since was built on the foundations of these breaches as well. And everything they continue to do in the coming years. There is no separating these things.

The most popcorn gif of popcorn gif moments. Of course they'll appeal, so, and I don't mean this flippantly, the chances are there will be no sanctions this season.

Injuries are annoying. Injuries on international breaks are even more annoying. But injuries right at the start of a three week international breaks are probably the best moments to get them.

Two seasons ago City won their first five and got nowhere near winning the league. Last season Liverpool won their first five and got nowhere near winning the league. This Interlull will feel long, and the hype machine will be in operation, but we're barely getting started.

Arsenal have had three tough away games to open the season, with two wins and a bad loss. Watching City's defence, and I'm pretty convinced they'll lose a good number of these tough away games this season. Their next four away games? Liverpool, Villa, Forest, Arsenal.

It turns out that almost every away game in this league is hard. Villa was hard and we managed it. Sunderland was very hard and we managed it. Brighton was very hard and we didn't. Brentford, Bournemouth, Newcastle....the away days to everyone down to about 15th in the league are all challenging.

So close to a perfect first segment of the season, but that was very very bad. But, my perspective would be that our three league away games have been Villa, Sunderland, Brighton, and we've taken six points. There's a very good chance that absolutely nobody does any better with those three.
