Well, my time on Twitter/X has finally come to an end and my account there is deactivated. Will be spending more time here now as a result. Which I think is a good thing!

I really want Amorim to succeed, but I can't say I'm convinced. Blindly following a formation that players aren't suited to, and which may not work in the Premier League is concerning. He says he won't change, but if he doesn't I fear the worst.

Dan Ashworth is gone then. Not a great look for INEOS especially after the haggling with Newcastle and the long wait to get him in.

RIP Kath. The official tribute, and the many lovely words from ex players and journalists did bring a tear to the eye. Sounds like a wonderful lady and the end of an era.

Morning Reds. Not too gutted about losing to Stoke, sorry, Arsenal last night. Definite lack of quality in final third, but remained solid for much of the game and it's evident they're trying to follow Amorim's instructions. It's gonna take time and this wasn't a game I expected much from.

Lovely day out with a mate yesterday on a London pub crawl. Ended in The Spice of Life watching the incredible Apollo Brass, who were an amazing find. This was the best pub tree we saw. Congrats to The Silver Cross pub.

In need of a new book to read, and in the mood for a musical biography/autobiography or a book generally about music. A band, an artist, a genre... Any recommendations? 📖 🎶

Haven't posted anything on the other site for weeks now. Somehow I can't quite pull the plug, even though it's far more pleasant in this space. Anyone else struggling to cut the cord?

Morning BlueSky 💙 Continuing to gain followers, which is lovely and I'm following back as quickly as I can. BUT, if there's nothing on your profile saying what you're about and what your interests are etc, I won't be following back. I need to be sure I'm following the right folk 😄 Happy Friday!

Underwhelming game after a brilliant start. Amorim will surely have learned a lot today and will realise, if he didn't before, the scale of the task. Lack of cutting edge, not great in possession and poor decision making. It can only improve?

We have a tree up. Bit early, but weren't sure if the thing would reassemble as a bit knackered so needed to leave time for getting a replacement. Quite pleased with it, although 99% of it was my wife's efforts!

In preparing for this week, Amorim leaned on a coaching guideline where if something can't be explained in one sentence, don't say it. He realises image is important here, but not as important to United as a new clarity www.independent.co.uk/sport/footba...

Ruben Amorim can succeed where previous Man Utd managers have failed

As he prepares for his first game as United boss, Amorim may just have the secret to success at Old Trafford where his predecessors fell down

If you could bring 1 player back from the post Fergie era into the current squad, who would you go for? The old Fergie guard were too old when he left. So I'd go with Edi Cavani who would press like a demon. Back ups Herrera, Matic & Rooney (although way past his prime post Fergie).

It really is unspeakably cold. What should be my winter warmer of choice this evening? Rum, Whisky, Ale or Port? I appreciate it's only Wednesday, but I think the temperature calls for something a little comforting.

Good morning dear phone family. It's #InternationalMensDay2024 so I wanted to highlight this 💔 I've seen the impact of suicide on loved ones left behind. If you're worried about anyone, ask if they're OK, and ask again if there's any doubt. You could save a life ❤️ Take care 🥰 #HaveCourageAndBeKind

Text only:
84 men a week in the UK take their own lives That's 12 a day Lads you don't need to "man up". You don't need to "be more of a man" It's okay to talk about your mental health It doesn't make you any less of a man to show emotions.

It shows strength.

With one week until the season resumes, what do we think are realistic goals for us? I think top 4 should be the aim, although we might have left ourselves quite a lot to do and it depends how quickly the players adapt to Amorim's style. For me, top 6 minimum and a trophy should be the aim.
