binging video games is probably not good but damn if it doesn't feel satisfying even if it's at the expense of remembering to eat and drink sometimes and that i have other things to do that day

being a higu/umi fan means you will look at a character who is the worst person alive and you will still find a way to at least understand why they're like that. it makes me extremely annoying but i've always been a bitch with bad taste and i will never change

i ended up sympathizing with the guy despite what he does bc he is ultimately a victim of juvenile violence who uses movie making as a way to dissociate from himself and he really just wants to be understood by his friend. if you liked stories like subahibi/tsui no sora you might also like this

the other day i watched a movie called the dirties that a friend rec'd me. it was pretty interesting. it's about two heavily bullied guys trying to make a movie about a school shooter until one of them becomes one for real. also said guy is hinted to be closeted transfem. welcome back mamiya takuji

Went to an American themed restaurant in Japan and they definitely captured our essence.

the tsukihime to umineko to fata morgana pipeline.... as much as i regret not playing the latter much earlier, i'm a bit glad i experienced these in chronological release order by total coincidence. there's A Certain Character Archetype that shows up in all 3 that's satisfying to see in this way

(this is the most i can muster to say right now after crying a bunch while playing and heavily considering the thought that it might be one of my fave games and stories of all time)

laura @beamofblossoms.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

honestly you're way more of an anime buff than me so i doubt there's anything i've watched of that length that you haven't already seen LOL.... all i got is like umm. kuzu no honkai. or mononoke.

when i get to it i am going to post out of context the single line of dialogue in fatamoru that i had known about for years beforehand. the one that made Gamers upset. you know the one

120

laura @beamofblossoms.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

i left off at a point where you could honestly just end the story there even with unresolved plot threads but unfortunately i know the average playtime count so i have another dozen hours worth of emotional rollercoasters

laura @beamofblossoms.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

ended today's fatamoru session on a positive note which means things are guaranteed to get worse in-universe as soon as i pick it up again

To be fair, you have to have the pure heart of a pervert to understand Cosmic Princess Kaguya.

Q: What do you think about mom x daughter yuri?
Kaguya: "Hot"
Iroha: *gets interrupted*
Yachiyo: "Iroha agrees with us."

10 years ago Love Live was a juggernaut of the Anime Girl Multimedia Project enterprise and Bandori was a struggling upstart that had to beg people to buy merch. Now the former is rudderless and adrift while the latter is a titan that keeps pushing forward. Fascinating to see how it happened.
