BD Strike aka BeautifulFiction @bdstrike.co.uk · 01/10/2026My kid left for university last week. I spent a couple of days feeling oddly bereft, but I'm feeling a lot better now. He seems to be doing okay, and I can do things like dust his bedroom for the first time in an age. So there's that. 280

BD Strike aka BeautifulFiction @bdstrike.co.uk · 30/04/2026People who only comment on unedited drafts to correct typos? No thanks. 110
BD Strike aka BeautifulFiction @bdstrike.co.uk · 22/04/2026'Look at you, like a dog rushing to its master's aid. You will die here, trying to free him. The so-called mighty Emrys. BD Strike aka BeautifulFiction @bdstrike.co.uk · 22/04/2026Oh, thank you. it's a sequel to A Hint Of Legacy (which is already on AO3) but a long one! Initially, it'll go on patreon first, buyt it'll definitely be coming to AO3 later in the year! Hopefully you like it if you do decide to give it a go! 010
BD Strike aka BeautifulFiction @bdstrike.co.uk · 21/04/2026Bought myself a cake to celebrate finishing the first draft of Dragon's Dawn - a dragon! Merlin fic I've been working on! 371

BD Strike aka BeautifulFiction @bdstrike.co.uk · 19/04/2026Raising money for the writing shed continues. I'm putting together a poster of contributors to hang in the new one once it's built to say thanks to all those who've helped out! ko-fi.com/bdstrike 020
BD Strike aka BeautifulFiction @bdstrike.co.uk · 17/04/2026I'm not even sure they're real people and not just bots tbh. It's infuriating. 110
BD Strike aka BeautifulFiction @bdstrike.co.uk · 17/04/2026I doubt it. It's not like fic writers are loaded with cash. One of them tried to get me to pay them 25k to make a comment of one of my fics. Absolutely laughable!! 210
BD Strike aka BeautifulFiction @bdstrike.co.uk · 17/04/2026Getting those stupid AO3 commission scammers on my Patreon now. Like, no??? 240

BD Strike aka BeautifulFiction @bdstrike.co.uk · 12/04/2026Dad's 85th bday dinner. Mostly okay but mum gave my sisters a late Easter present and then just said to me "I haven't got one for you". On the one hand I don't care about stuff. On the other it's the principle of the thing. I'm quite annoyed. 140
BD Strike aka BeautifulFiction @bdstrike.co.uk · 10/04/2026Thank you ♥️ I would be so much happier if she would just acknowledge something's off, but she refuses, and she's not incapacitated, just stubborn as hell. 010
BD Strike aka BeautifulFiction @bdstrike.co.uk · 09/04/2026My mother, who is in deep denial about her short term memory loss, keeps telling me Obama was shot. Now, obviously, he wasn't. He's doing good. She's thinking of JFK. She's been confidently incorrect about it twice now but her memory is FINE /sarcasm 120

BD Strike aka BeautifulFiction @bdstrike.co.uk · 27/01/2026Talking to my mum (who has memory issues) is just so HARD. We have a not-good relationship, and her old trick whenever you accused her of something was "I never said that" (because she didn't want to admit it) Now she just can't remember, and I have to listen to the save 7 conversations on repeat. 030
