And then boast in PRs that you have "unlimited tokens" now that you got millions in investor money. 🙃

Very nice! We were in Chersonisou (east of Heraklion). Love the island! Never island-hopped in Greece though.

Very nice! Where are you staying? :) Also is the weather still good? When we left Crete there was quite some rain.

Was super inactive for the last 2 weeks. We were in Greece for a Vacation trip, had some lovely food and now I'm ready to crank some issues and tickets.

Hey Berliners: things have felt especially dark to me in our industry lately. It's good to remember what hasn't changed: building high-quality products & healthy teams. If that resonates, join us next week for another PB&J workshop. Get advice, give advice, meet like-minded folks. luma.com/8i8a1q3u

Besides the computer and notepad I wouldn't need anything else to start to learn code. Nowadays the shift with coding without ai is stupid would mean you'd need some kind of subscription to pick this up - as a job or a hobby. As a young adult maybe it's possible but not as a teen without income.

Dominik Biedebach @bdbch.com · 03/09/2026
Yep true - if we look at this in terms of building something successful - but I think more out of the pov of a young person starting to get into this profession. I started when I was 12 with my home computer that maybe cost 150€ maximum back then.

Dominik Biedebach @bdbch.com · 03/09/2026
Obviously you can still do this today and probably in 2030 - but how realistic is learning that with the job later? I think until local compute is possible on most devices we'll see people being pushed into pricey compute subscriptions.

Dominik Biedebach @bdbch.com · 03/09/2026
Kind of, before you would just need some device to code on and pay for that once, means even as a teenager living in a not-so-well-off family if you had some computer at home you could theoretically pick up the skill and start to code.

Dominik Biedebach @bdbch.com · 03/09/2026
I mean you are still able to open a code editor and start away as a beginner (which I personally think every beginner should still do) but how is that realistic to the job they want to do later?
010
Dominik Biedebach @bdbch.com · 03/09/2026
and could start away.

Dominik Biedebach @bdbch.com · 03/09/2026
It may be easy to pay off as an adult but I think a lot of us started coding when we were teens (at least I assume) and $20 per month was far away for me back then. In contrast you would have been able to just open notepad or whatever editor your 200$ parents computer came with

Lets say full AI coding is really the future: Does that mean Coding as a hobby or Open Source is now "pay to win" or even comes with a big paywall to just get started in? Speaking from the perspective of a junior / beginner.

@svenadlung.bsky.social and I started to build something really cool for Tiptap. Official Tiptap DevTools! :) I'd love to hear some insights on how much you would use this if you used Tiptap before. It lets you see the live document & plugin state, see extension configuration, run commands & more

It gets even worse with high/max but I even tried it on low. My problem is quite complicated but I would've expected it to start earlier (since I already pre-build most logic and structure around the function I wanted it to generate).

One cool use case: share expenses on meetups and conventions (And maybe if atproto gets an actual payment solution you could allow users to resolve payments even)

Hello World! finally I had to succumb to the pressure by @bdbch.com and do a first post about the webapp I built. It's an tracker for your vacation expenses! When you're traveling with people, there is always someone who foots the bill and this will keep track and calculate balances for y'all!
Screenshot of my new apps login page. The app is called "Teilweise", and it's an expense tracker + splitter app.

Would you guys think mu.social should be listed as an alternative for euroalternative.eu/alternatives...?
mu.social
mu

Does it? For me it always shows the selector at the bottom where you can switch off the Bluesky servers manually. I guess this is just optional then?
120
Dominik Biedebach @bdbch.com · 28/08/2026
Not sure if it's just mu. I'm on the native Bluesky client and everything is loading slow as hell right now.
1110
Dominik Biedebach @bdbch.com · 28/08/2026
Anyone knows the reason why the Bluesky login is so unnecessarily complicated compared to something like mu - why do I need to pick my PDS provider manually while other clients can just get this info from my handle and send me there automatically?

Specifically when there are so many good, other solutions that don't require a full 8gb distro are out there what were not build by someone who sees specific groups of people as trash.

Funny how they don't go for any right-wing organizations or groups that organize right now. Makes you wonder why, since the gov is obviously not right - right?

Used @tldraw.com offline with Claude the first time today and I love it so much! saved me a lot of time to draft out contribution workflows that would've been annoying work for me. Thanks @steveruizok.bsky.social for this great piece of software ❤️

I can't find any lexicons for it on the network so I assume either non-published ones or posts are not stored on the protocol? Not sure.

Yeah I think devs will somehow need to do a lot of marketing for their apps and keep their apps in peoples head somehow so users come back on their own without external incentives.

I think what is bad is that Twitter - before Elon came in - was quite open and allowed you to access their API, their website, etc. because it was really a "towncentre". Now that Elon got it he closed everything off and put paywalls up.

Same here, I've read all of them recently but Atmosphere sounds just the best. And I think once the idea of "Atmosphere Accounts" is widely known it may also help with people understanding the concept more.
110
Dominik Biedebach @bdbch.com · 25/08/2026
Haha, I fall back to that when I speak to non-tech people who don't know about the protocol yet. But I also prefer Atmosphere - sounds nice & is non-technical, just the brand is not yet known enough.

Dominik Biedebach @bdbch.com · 25/08/2026
What do you call accounts on the Atmosphere? Bluesky Account? ATProto Account? Atmosphere Account?

Sadly people still often send me X links - so I guess now I just have to tell them "nah can't see this, try again on an actually open website".

X where you can't read posts properly without having an account, you can't even look at a users profile or change a videos volume. Worst platform out there.

Dominik Biedebach @bdbch.com · 25/08/2026
This piece of shit platform should just die off. I don't get why people cling to it. It forces you to login, it forces you to pay up just to reach people. And everyone and their grandma is over there.
