Here's the money quote from the article. Note what it says: The university claims an operating deficit of $1.7bn, but ONLY IF you don't count all of the revenue the University actually received, including state and federal appropriations. If you include those, the University was REVENUE POSITIVE.
Between fiscal years 2024 and 2025, the university’s operating loss increased by $76.9 million, or 4.9%, to $1.7 billion. But with state and federal appropriations, gifts and other nonoperating revenue factored in, the university ran surpluses of hundreds of thousands of dollars that increased over that period.

LMAO, even.
"Your message demonstrates clearly that you have complete contempt for those academics who do not adhere to the
dominant, leftist ideology on the university campus, describing us contemptuously as
'disgruntled nonconformists'," Lowery wrote. "That is not an environment that can possibly lead to a vibrant Center for Intellectual Freedom. No serious academics with an interest in higher
education reform would reasonably want to continue to associate with this project
under your leadership, and as you can see from the attached letter they will not."

Iron Man, no contest. The other three just threw theirs together, Tony Stark built his in a cave... WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!
In all seriousness, though, Tony actually had to build his first suit. The other three are literally cobbled together out of a thrift store discount day.

This weekend, I found a complete-in-box copy of the game at a game store, but I couldn't remember what the back of the box looked like. So, I Googled "Xexyz box art." I got what I was looking for, but I also got this AI summary that I didn't ask for:
AI Overview

Xexyz (pronounced "Zek-siz") is a 1989 action-platformer and shoot 'em up hybrid video game developed by Atlus and published by Hudson Soft for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).

The Original NES Box Art
The original North American release box is highly recognizable among retro game collectors:
Front Cover: Features futuristic, sci-fi illustration art depicting the main character, Apollo, in his cybernetic combat armor.
Tagline: The box prominently displays the generic marketing tagline, "The Space Action Adventure".
Visual Style: It showcases a heavy 1980s sci-fi anime aesthetic, complete with neon-accented enemy mechanical designs and an outer space background.

Jake Wright @bcnjake.bsky.social · 01/07/2026
So I encountered a *totally* anodyne series of AI fuck ups that I think (re)illustrates the problem with trusting AI when you don't know, even when AI "cites" its sources. One of my favorite Nintendo games is Xexyz, a 1989 game from Hudson Soft. Here's the box art, which will be important in a sec.
The cover art for the NES game Xexyz. The box is black with standard Nintendo of America licensing graphics along the bottom. The Hudson Soft logo is along the top. In the middle 75% of the image is a field of stars with a white vector drawing of the text XEXYZ. Underneath in smaller letters is the text "The Space Action Adventure…"
