A few years ago, I said greedy egg producers like Cal-Maine were using their market power to deliberately drive up egg prices. My right-wing critics fried me for saying this — but now they all have egg on their face.

Weirdly, as a White Sox fan, hearing Cleveland fans lustily boo the best Sox players is the greatest thing so far. Win or lose, it's nice to have players good enough to hate and a rival to share hate with again.

This dude would have laughed in your face if you told him when the season started l, and he re-signed with the Sox, that he'd be closing out a playoff victory as October rolled in.

The best thing Chris Getz brought to the White Sox was a new offensive philosophy. Fuck batting average. They're 11th out of 15 AL teams in average and hits. But easily first in runs. First in walks, second in on base percentage, third in homers. Seven runs today on six hits. THAT SHIT WORKS.

These MAGA Senators have no clue how to handle Jack Smith. He's like an integrity robot, and they wouldn't know the truth if it sat next to them at a basketball game. Absolutely brutal self-own from Missouri clown Eric Schmitt, as he tries desperately to suck up to Donald Trump.

The amount of Amazon workers relying on SNAP and Medicaid has nearly tripled since 2020 — while Amazon’s annual profits soared by over 550%. It’s the same story everywhere: corporate profits are at record highs, while workers’ share of the economy is at a record low. We must unrig the system.

On this day in 1994, the Clinton administration's heathcare reform plan was declared "dead" by Congress. Over 30 years later, the US is still the only industrialized country without universal healthcare. This should be a national outrage.

DoorDash spent $1.4M trying to stop Zohran Mamdani from becoming mayor. This week's historic $131.5M enforcement action against DoorDash for underpaying NYC delivery workers shows why. Yet another reminder that the only thing that can beat organized money is organized people.

We have this book we want to do that I know would work, but I'm not sure it's going to land anywhere because publisher parameters are a little narrow. Which I get. It's very hard to prove a book will work by doing the book if you can't get the book done. But you guys would love it.

We're dealing with so many actual awful humans, lame jokes about Carrot Top just feel sad and kind of depressing. I get that he's odd and people hate props, but the guy found his niche and always seemed a little puzzled as to why he drew so much hate.

The reason I work in tweaked variations of specific action/pop genres is because I know you can communicate deeper truths through them without losing the thrills and hyper-real engagement. Even the wildest characters can be treated as three-dimensional, and should be. Genre needn't be disposable.

B. Clay Moore @bclaymoore.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
There's a thing writers do in genre stories where they think "character" defines their characters, and all of the dialogue just plays to their surface traits. As a result, the characters are *all* surface and if some plot-driven emotional beats are needed via dialogue, they sound even less real.

I think about Gary Neville insisting that Arsenal would rather have Cole Palmer than Havertz (or anyone). That's as dumb a take as I've seen from Neville(!). I'm trying to imagine Arteta allowing a completely loose cannon to fly around without any sense of what anyone else is doing.
