They're direct quotes but The Heritage Foundation won't attribute them.
Fellow Conservative,

"Amnesty for all immigrants," "[ending] ICE detention and deportations," and "fully abolishing the police and prison system."

These direct quotes are what the Democratic Socialists of America promise to do to our nation.

Their evil agenda would be disastrous for the American people. It would mean higher crime, societal chaos, and the destruction of our American identity.

That is why I am asking you to make a special gift to The Heritage Foundation today.

Why is our Secretary of Defense so interested in the male troops?
The Pentagon’s new testosterone testing mandate, officially issued by the Defense Health Agency following an initiative by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, requires mandatory annual testosterone screenings for male active-duty and reserve service members aged 30 and older. The core details of the clinical guidance and policy include:📋 Testing Protocols:
Age 30 and Older (Mandatory): Male troops in this bracket must receive mandatory blood tests for testosterone deficiency as part of their routine annual Periodic Health Assessments (PHAs).
Under Age 30 (Optional): Younger male service members are not mandated to take the test but can volunteer to be screened upon request, or if military clinicians identify warning signs.

Trump, from his golf club in Ireland, has called on Ukraine to stop striking Russian oil targets, which literally fuel Russia's war.
Trump was asked by a reporter if he had spoken with Zelenskyy following his recent conversation with Russia’s Vladimir Putin.

Trump responded by calling on Zelenskyy to halt strikes against Russia.

“Mr. Zelensky has to do one thing. He has to stop knocking out diesel fuel in Russia,” Trump told reporters on the sidelines of the Irish Open, which is being played at his Doonbeg golf club.

Make no mistake, it is the intention of this government to irreversibly cause an eligible voter to miss the voting deadline, then accept the sternly-written letter of disapproval.
“Not only is this system astonishingly untested, USPS has simultaneously implemented an impracticable zero percent failure rate,” Blumenthal wrote. “When ballots are submitted to USPS in large-volume batches, if any one ballot in the batch cannot be verified against the Portal, all ballots in that batch will be rejected.”

In other words, if there is just one ballot with an issue — like a name that doesn’t match up identically to the name states previously provided to USPS — out of a batch of 10,000, then USPS would refuse to mail all 10,000 of the ballots, not just the flagged one.

“Voters intending to cast ballots by mail may not even be aware that their ballots have been rejected, or were part of a rejected batch, until it is too late to secure an alternative ballot or vote in person,” Blumenthal added.

The 11 days of exercises involving 18,000 South Korean soldiers were designed to beef up readiness against North Korean threats.

U.S. and South Korean forces were expected to practice joint operations in complex scenarios, including a live-fire exercise to test joint precision targeting and maneuver, a wet gap crossing, and distribution of prepositioned military equipment, according to the U.S. military.

The year is 2056. 12-ton supercrabs have invaded Europe after decimating the Mediterranean fishing industry.
Meanwhile, life has colonized the containers. Anemones, sponges, and crabs grow on the barrels, which offer the only hard surface amidst the seabed filled with soft mud for a long way in any direction.

Whether these sea creatures are absorbing anything remains unknown. To investigate, the team collected sediment, water, organism, and microbial samples near the barrels, along with a comparison set from natural rocky habitats nearby.

The Lord agrees (Amos 5:21–24).
“I hate, I despise your religious festivals;
your assemblies are a stench to me.
Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings,
    I will not accept them.
Though you bring choice fellowship offerings,
I will have no regard for them.
Away with the noise of your songs!
I will not listen to the music of your harps.
But let justice roll on like a river,
    righteousness like a never-failing stream!

Anti-ICE Protesters Found Guilty in Case That Guts Free Speech Rights: newrepublic.com/post/211138/...
Three Washington state protesters have been found guilty of federal conspiracy charges for sitting in front of a bus taking people to an immigration detention center in Tacoma.

Jac Archer, Justice Forral, and Bajun Mavalwalla II were three of a group of nine people who were arrested last June after responding to former City Council President Ben Stuckart’s request for protesters to block a bus from taking immigrants from one ICE detention center to another.Six of the nine arrested accepted plea deals, while Archer, Forral, and Mavalwalla took their case to trial, where a jury found them guilty of “conspiracy to impede or injure officers.”“This was the first conspiracy prosecution in Eastern Washington history under 18 U.S.C. Section 372—a Civil War-era law dusted off to punish members of the Spokane community who stood up for two young men who were unlawfully detained by ICE,” former acting U.S. Attorney Richard Barker told The Spokesman-Review in a statement. “I hope that moving forward DOJ will focus on the crimes that matter most to keep our families safe and to build trust with the communities that most need and deserve law enforcement protection.”Mavalwalla, a combat veteran, and Forral and Archer, both activists, now face a maximum sentence of six years in federal prison or up to $250,000 in fines. Their attorneys said they intend to appeal the decision.

I'm reading up on the basics of #entomology pinning as a summer activity with my son. I can confidently say I've never seen the phrase “murdered gently” in any context before.
SEARCH ENGINE RESULT: Insects are collected using methods such as handpicking, sweep netting, and trapping. They are then murdered gently with methods such as ethyl acetate in killing jars, freezing, or alcohol immersion.

Yeah, taxpayers are funding his ballroom.
REUTERS, 27 April 2026: US Congress Republicans push legislation to build, fund Trump's $400 million ballroomWASHINGTON, April 27 (Reuters) - Two days after a shooting at a dinner that President Donald Trump was attending, Republicans in the U.S. Congress pushed for legislation to fund and speed construction of a White House ballroom, citing increased security concerns.

Senate Budget Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and two fellow Republicans have crafted a bill to mainly finance the construction, which already is underway, at taxpayers' expense.

"I'd like the vote as soon as possible to accelerate what America needs: A secure facility for the president and others to meet in, to have a good time, to enjoy themselves without putting the nation at risk," Graham told reporters, adding that underneath the ballroom would be "a lot of military stuff" that he said would include a Secret Service annex.

“Depending on who possesses the power, that self-interest would come at a cost to people of other nations, genders, and races. This egoism might manifest some days as outright cruelty and oppression, some days as quiet resentment and fear.” // David Zahl, “Low Anthropology”
If it's true that we err toward our own interests, that would extend to the interests of the groups we belong to—for example, our nation, our gender, our race, and so on. Depending on who possesses the power (and what form that power takes), that self-interest would come at a cost to people of other nations, genders, and races. This egoism might manifest some days as outright cruelty and oppression, some days as quiet resentment and fear.

Allen’s experience embodies a growing body of evidence that the tariffs that Trump said would help American factories are, in fact, squashing many of them. The problem could get worse as the administration scrambles to craft new tariffs to replace the emergency import taxes that the Supreme Court ruled illegal in February.

Allen said he ran his company at a loss in 2025 because of tariffs. His payroll has fallen to 140 workers from a peak of 205. To get by this year, he has hiked prices by 8% to 10%, even though that might mean fewer sales.

“Love, fellowship and reconciliation are often overlooked in favor of personal spiritual formation. Paul’s ethics are radically shaped toward ecclesial formation, and only within that ecclesial context does the individual Christian find personal formation.” — Scot McKnight, “The Letter to Philemon”
They are more than partners in a cause. This is the core of Paul’s entire appeal: as fellow believers and as those who share life “in Christ” in the ecclesial body of Christ, they now have opportunities and obligations to one another that form a new socio-ecclesial reality, the new creation kingdom of God, most especially so because they are koinōnoi in ministry in Christ. In Philemon, Paul concentrates on mutually reciprocating life under the cruciform Lord Jesus, life established by reconciliation. It is not a stretch to see the term koinōnos/partner as forming the core of Pauline theology and ethics. This observation should inform contemporary discussions of Christian ethics. Unfortunately, love, fellowship, and reconciliation are often overlooked in favor of personal spiritual formation. Paul’s ethics are radically shaped toward ecclesial formation, and only within that ecclesial context does the individual Christian find personal formation.
