Pretty clear that the Trump admin's "Civil Rights" department is actively seeking to force schools to segregate further and deny more Black students.
The Department’s investigation found that post-SFFA, UCLA Law’s application includes personal statements and essay prompts, which are designed to elicit information about race. And UCLA Law’s admissions staff instructed prospective applicants how to reveal their race in these sections of the application—during race-based recruitment efforts, such as its annual “Diversity Admissions Open House”.

The Department’s analysis revealed that UCLA Law rejected white and Asian applicants who had the same LSAT scores as admitted black and Hispanic applicants. Plainly, lower-scoring white and Asian applicants would have been admitted by UCLA Law if they were black or Hispanic. Further, in 2024 and 2025 (combined), half of the admitted black applicants had LSAT scores that were at or below 90% of the admitted white applicants.

Here's a graphic that does a better job of conveying the point than my original post: even by the (insane) standards of the first Trump administration, #SCOTUS is receiving—and granting—a truly unprecedented number of applications for emergency relief from the federal government:
A chart that shows the number of emergency applications filed and granted by the Supreme Court during each presidency dating back to George W. Bush, with the data annualized to show the far-higher frequencies since 2017, but especially during the Trump I and Trump II administrations.

This was the 28th time #SCOTUS has granted emergency relief to the Trump administration since 1/20/25. That matches the total number of grants during the entirety of the first Trump administration. And both of those totals dwarf the *four* grants of relief (two each) during the Bush & Obama admins.

UPDATE: In a new filing, DOJ argues that the current Kennedy Center closure was Matt Floca’s decision — made to address and examine safety concerns — and has nothing to do with the renovation closure plans and, as such, it doesn’t violate the court’s preliminary injunction.
Yesterday morning-separate from any Board decision related to closure for ongoing
renovationsMatt Floca, the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, decided to temporarily close the Center due to "acute risks to public safety resulting from continued structural deterioration at the Center." Declaration of Charles Matthew ("Matt") Floca (Floca Decl.) 9 3.'
During this temporary closure, "which will last for seven days, unless extended, [Floca] intend[s] to assess existing safety risks in those portions of the main building exhibiting severe structural
deterioration." Id.
Mr. Floca did not make this decision, which is within his authority, in a vacuum. Instead, his decision "was and has been informed by the wide array of evidence made available to [him] in
the course of [his] duties, which [he] evaluated based on [his] more than 15 years of experience in managing complex programs, facilities, and large-scale budgets." Id. * 4. This evidence includes a recent assessment by the engineering firm Walter P Moore, which "indicated more advanceddeterioration in the overhead soffit panels than recently documented" and revealed an active falling
hazard. Id. 19 4-5. These soffit panels are 2,500-pound slabs of concrete hanging 60 feet in the
air around the full exterior of the center. The evidence considered by Mr. Floca also includes the
"structural failure of a five-by-four-foot piece of one-inch-thick ceiling plaster on September 4 due to water damage following severe storms in the District of Columbia." Id. 4. The Center, with the assistance of third parties, is currently investigating the failure of the plaster, among other
issues. Id.
No part of the Court's preliminary injunction order forbids a temporary closure like this one. Contra Doc. 84 at 3. This Court's order forbids only the further effectuation of a Board decision to close for "such time as is required to complete the repair and restoration funded by Section 60025 of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act." Meanwhile, El-Sayed's past references to the deadly attacks have continued to surface, including two deleted social media posts verified by CBS News that have not been previously reported. In those posts, he calls for the American public to muster the same outrage for the COVID-19 death toll that they displayed after 9/11. In one, from April 2020, El-Sayed compared the nearly 3,000 Americans killed on Sept. 11 to the mounting COVID-19 death toll and argued for a response commensurate with the nation's post-9/11 mobilization. In another, El-Sayed wrote that because more Americans had died from COVID than in the Sept. 11 attacks, he hoped "that means we'll spend the next ten years fighting a war for public health & against poverty ... like we launched a global #Waron Terror after 9/11. We could save lives rather than take them."
