We found the killer app for AI doing crime with impunity. No wonder they're so keen to pretend their scripts have agency. After all if it is just a tool the tool user would be punished. Nobody throws a gun in jail for a murder.

I suspected that for a long time. Another of my favorite authors, Glen Cook, wrote sci-fi earlier in his career and those books rank among my favorite re-reads, but probably 90% of his total catalog is fantasy.

Decided on local sushi for lunch. A little place in a nearby plaza named Ichiban sushi. Soft shell crab roll and sea monster roll with a decorative plastic bonsai tree. Good meal as always.
A plain white dinner plate with two sushi rolls on it, over shadowed by a decorative plastic bonsai tree also located on the plate.

Pictures are working again! Post something stupid from your phone.
A cloth tape measure green in color received free with flat pack furniture, laid next to a yellow standard tape measure. The inches on the green one are longer than the inches on the standard tape measure.

Surprised twice today, once by my testing GPU still working, and once by discovering i've had it for 19 years 😯 I guess that was $300 well spent.

Wanted a burger so headed over to the fine folks at Lackawanna's Steel city pub. Excellent as always with top notch service. Cose the partly enclosed patio since it's 29°C outside

This is so cool! The paper nautilus, or argonaut, is one of the strangest little weirdos in the ocean. I knew how odd they were, but the incredible dedication and meticulous observation it took for Jeanne Villepreux-Power to figure them out is new to me!

I remember a bar in my hometown in NWPA the bathroom was in the basement. The smoke cloud went half way down that flight of stairs you could see a discernable separation point where the smoke ceased

Whenever someone identifies as an "engineer" I die a bit inside. It's rarely the type who bend tin, design circuits, sign off on hydraulic plans etc. it's almost always a far squishier field with little to no connection to what keeps civilization running.

Every day it sits on the ground is likely well more than ten thousand Euro cost (insurance still needs paid, depreciation still occurs, time limited components keep ticking, etc). All to avoid such a small payout.
