“To the ICE agent who took away my mother: I hope it was worth it,” wrote Samuel Gonzalez Terrones before taking his own life. This is the reality of what mass deportation looks like. Not only impacting those who are detained but also leaving a path of destruction for the family they leave behind.

Samuel Gonzalez Terrones, 21, struggled with depression and schizophrenia. His mom's arrest by ICE became too much to bear.

Following up our coverage of current anti-ICE flashpoints around the country, we recommend this online public meeting featuring organizers from anti-ICE and anti-border fights that are underway in Arizona, Minnesota, Vermont, and Austin, Texas. Full information about the event is in the alt text.
⁨📷⁩ ⁨PLEASE SHARE PUBLICLY: On Tuesday, September 29th at 5:00pm PT and Arizona/6:00pm MT/7:00pm CT/8:00pm ET, Let's Go! will be hosting an Emergency Call on Anti-ICE flashpoints that are happening right NOW. Joining us will be those on the ground from four current struggles that have open calls for action:

-The Minnesota 15 Anti-Repression Committee, who are calling for an international day of solidarity actions on Saturday, October 3, to express support for the fifteen defendants who have been federally charged for allegedly conspiring to resist the violence of ICE;

-The National Week of Action to SHUT DOWN ICE VT from October 4-9 in Chittenden County, Vermont - ICE operations across the nation are dependent on the surveillance infrastructure in Vermont - this week of mass action aims to SHUT this nerve center DOWN;

-Activists who have been on the ground in Lochiel, Arizona where a treesit and anti-border camp have been blocking the construction of the border wall for over two months. Lochiel is one site of struggle along a 2000-mile contested border and our neighbors there are calling everyone to join them in the struggle of direct action and land defense;

-Activists from Dare to Struggle in Austin, Texas, resisting and responding to the shooting of Wilber Rafael Garcés Pérez by an ICE agent on Sunday, September 20th.

It is critical we connect and network our local struggles throughout the country to apply heat on ICE this October. Let's Go! is an organizing network that offers strategy, training and community. We move fast, share tools and trainings, and help local struggles take on national significance (https://letsgonetwork.org/).

Working with anarchist artist NO BONZO, we've made a support poster to inform people about the Minneapolis 15 case. 15 people are federally charged with conspiracy for allegedly defending their neighborhoods from ICE. Please print these out and post them everywhere! crimethinc.com/posters/supp...
A poster reading:

Support the Minnesota fifteen!

The US Attorney’s Office in Minneapolis has charged fifteen people with “conspiracy to impede federal officers,” accusing them of defending their neighborhoods from ICE.

Across Minnesota and all around the country, hundreds of thousands of people have come together to form rapid response networks and protect their neighbors from mercenaries who are separating parents from their children and brutalizing people regardless of their immigration status. As ICE agents murder people in the streets, federal authorities want to pretend that those who stand up to ICE represent the real threat to the public.

This prosecution is a part of NSPM-7, the Trump administration’s initiative to turn the War on Terror against “antifa”—which is to say, against anyone who opposes fascism. The goal of these charges is to intimidate people out of standing up for each other. Make no mistake, this prosecution is directed at all who do not welcome authoritarianism. If it succeeds, they will repeat this strategy again, targeting more and more people.

In the face of fascist violence, the only route to safety is collective organizing. Solidarity is self-preservation. The harder it is for them to capture today’s targets, the longer it will take them to target the rest of us.

Support the Minnesota fifteen!

The antifascist warriors of the 90s are beginning to leave us. First, it was the Parisian Red Warriors Julien & Rico. Last week it was Jota from Madrid’s Non Servium Army. We owe them an enormous debt of gratitude for paving the way for the generations that followed. "We did what had to be done."
Jota stands facing camera, holding a baseball bat and wearing a Mexican wrestlers mask. He wears a beige shirt reading ANTIFA and holds a baseball bat. His image is set on a red background with a laurel wreath around him. The text in white letters at top of the image reads "HICIMOS LO QUE HABIA QUE HACER" and "HASTA SIEMPRE JOTA."

So much that's objectively wrong in this article I'd have to write another book to address half of it. But we can start with noting that rooting for the national team of Spain because of the other team's real or perceived issues is like cheering for the Confederacy because we're angry about Trump.

What happened to the cop who murdered Carlo Giuliani? These are his words about his life today. Even if you are prepared to murder for the ruling class, they will use you to protect their privileges, then throw you away. They're using you to kill because they don't value life—yours or anyone's.

"I've been dead since that day, like Giuliani. I'm a 40-year-old man living a wasted life, like something abandoned. Without friends, I search for them on Facebook but I can't find their names anymore. Without a job. Without opportunities."

Reached by phone by AGI at his home in Catanzaro, Placanica apologizes for his hoarse voice, which, when he talks about his current condition, turns to tears: "I smoked all night because I couldn't sleep. These are even more difficult days."

From Riot to Insurrection: The G8 Summit of 2001 & The Battle of Genoa – Tomas Rothaus
Vendor: PM Type: book Price: 23.95 Available now in the US. Orders outside the US are preorders, to be fulfilled August-September 2026. “…but in the end, we will win.” In 1992, following the collapse of the Eastern Bloc, the ruling class declared the end of history and the triumph of capitalism. Less than two years later, the Zapatista uprising in Chiapas galvanized a worldwide movement against capitalist globalization. All around the world, history began to crack and move again, like a frozen river thawing in the spring. This momentum culminated in July 2001 with the protests against the G8 summit, in what became known as the battle of Genoa. For days, tens of thousands of aspiring revolutionaries clashed with an army of police in a city on fire. From Riot to Insurrection offers a vivid account of this pivotal moment. In electrifying prose, Tomas Rothaus escorts the reader through those explosive days, recounting the chaotic street battles, the exhilarating sense of possibility, the heart-wrenching moments of triumph and loss. This is an ode to audacity, to what we become capable of when we believe in our collective power. The real lesson of the end of the Cold War is not that capitalism is inevitable; it is that empires always fall. While “socialism without freedom” had crumbled by 1992, “freedom without socialism” has yet to expire. That revolution remains possible—even today—provided that we fight for it the way people did in Genoa. Praise “Tomas Rothaus’s writing is able to thread the ever-thin-needle between lived history, the rush of revolutionary moments, incisive analysis, and humor in his writings on Genoa. I cannot recommend his work highly enough to anyone who wants to understand both radical anarchist politics and the lessons that the antiglobalization movement of the 1990s and early 2000s has to offer us.” —Charlie Allison, author of No Harmless Power: The Life and Times of the Ukrainian Anarchist Nestor Makhno “In the past half century, there was one tiny window when a global anticapitalist movement was on the offensive: the short years of the so-called antiglobalization movement at the turn of the millennium. That window was shut with the crackdown on the G8-summit protests in Genoa, Italy, in July 2001. The state raised the stakes and the movement could not answer. No serious analysis of the potentials and pitfalls of revolutionary anticapitalist politics can do without revisiting this crucial moment in history, and no one is more suited for the task than Tomas Rothaus, the rising star of contemporary revolutionary historiography. An eyewitness to the events, he takes us back with an unfailing sense for the essentials, rolled into a narrative that is both enlightening and hugely entertaining. If books decided the revolution, this one would carry us over the finish line with ease.” —Gabriel Kuhn, author of From Hash Rebels to Urban Guerrillas: A Documentary History of the 2nd of June Movement and X: Straight Edge and Radical Sobriety “From Riot to Insurrection: The G8 Summit of 2001 & The Battle of Genoa is a searing chronicle of one of the most electrifying confrontations in the modern struggle against capitalism. With gripping detail and unflinching insight, Tomas Rothaus brings the Genoa commune to life, where tens of thousands dared to defy the world’s most notorious class war criminals—and paid the price. More than just a history of a pivotal protest, this is a passionate meditation on rebellion, memory, and the enduring possibility of revolution. Rothaus reminds us that the fall of empires is not just inevitable; it is written in the courage of those who resist.” —Andrej Grubačić, professor of Anthropology and Social Change at CIIS, San Francisco About the Contributors Tomas Rothaus is a lifelong anarchist and antifascist as well as an athlete and a father. "I want to steal another goal from the robber" is to anti-imperialism as Brecht's "What is the robbing of a bank to the founding of a bank?" to anti-capitalism. Symbolic, "a game," changed nothing- but for the entire colonized world the Hand of God was an act of dignity & revenge against empire.
