Today was Frisian Day in #Hegebeintum, the highest terp/wierde/mound in the Netherlands. Very friendly and professional re-enactors. Learned about salt and local food in the Medieval times.

I have tried black primer and white primer from Vallejo. Painting over black was a nightmare and painting over white kind of ramdom. So I go for grey.

After finishing my 11th century figures, it is time for #Napoleonics from Perry miniatures. Well, actually Revolutionary French with it’s mix of uniforms and flags. Ruleset will be Songs of Drums and Shakos Large Battles, divisional level.

The first French Artillery piece, with a 4 man crew.

Cuirassiers and Carabiniers, heavy cavalry, 3 figs per base

Another cannon, light troops, fusiliers and flag bearers. En avant!!

１日１ミリ。Women and Panzer 、1944年秋、ドイツ軍の戦車（フランス軍のオチキスH39をドイツ軍が接収して使用）の前でポーズを決めるハイファッションの女性。一度ならずと目にしたことのある写真だと思うが、撮影したのはLIFE誌カメラマンのボブ・ランドリー（Bob Landry) 謎めいたシュールなシチュエーション。非日常的なシーンはファッションショーのために撮影されたものだった。44年の秋、解放後のパリではアパレルブランドが早々と次のシーズンの提案を始めた。宣材となる写真を撮る人材として、かつて女優リタ・ヘイワースのポートレイトで名を馳せたボブ・ランドリーはうってつけだった。

Great article. I must say after my last buy at the Perry Miniatures buying from the UK after Brexit is a pain with import duties and extra handling, which can easily be avoided. But it is still nice to see that the Distance Service rules, a EU initiative, is still up and running.

And up till todat August 28th is know as "Bommen Berend" and for quite some time it was a day off. It's not quite clear how to celebrate the day in the future, as the historical background isn't well known and it's not a day off anymore. Munster is quite nice BTW.

This is Bernard van/von Galen. He was the Bishop of #Munster. After dealing with some internal problems, he invaded the Dutch Republic twice. In #1672 he besieged the fortress town of #Groningen and bombed it. He was given the nickname "Bombing Berend". He left on August 28th /1
