Especially true in red counties like mine. I admit to a little trepidation after hearing MAGA types were planning to show up (they didn't). As passerby after passerby honked or waved in support, it dawned on me how much I'd underestimated my neighbors. That dissolution of fear is priceless.

One of the organizers of the Manhattan, Kansas protest said they estimated the crowd at 900-1,000 strong. It featured all ages, but with a LOT of seniors and disabled folks, great signs, local law enforcement support, no violence, and only a couple of counter protesters.
