A bit late but here is a picture of 755327 which I had last night for the second day on the bounce. Not quite so lucky with the journey as ended up getting back around 12 mins late due to some congestion in Ely.

Only ended up doing one of my Harwich’s as I had a near miss at Wrabness on the first trip. Put the wind up me at the time but chatting to Sara and a couple of others has helped me feel less shaky. I’ve got company for my Peterborough so should be ok for that 👍

#OnThisDay 40 years ago Balloch Pier closed. It allowed direct transfer from trains from Glasgow onto pleaure steamers on Loch Lomond, latterly 'Maid of the Loch' which ceased sailing in 1981 rendering the station redundant. The last train: Michael Ellison buff.ly/A0PJUIN
The last train to depart Balloch Pier on Sunday 28th September 1986, formed of a 3-car AC electric Class 303 unit in Strathclyde red & black livery. The destination blind displayed Balloch Central as Balloch Pier was not available (the service to here was limited)

Was quite a strange experience as the screens had merged due to a display fault so I didn’t have a power/brake gauge or formation details. I’ve just rebooted it as it has time before its next trip and that’s sorted it out for my colleague taking over 👍

As part of a modernisation programme, the wheel-worked crossing barriers are to be replaced with automatic ones and the box will also assume control of the level crossing at Howsham.
