Fall is here, and that means the red squirrels are changing their coats! In autumn the red squirrel goes from this thinner summer coat, to a thicker winter coat that will feature tufts of hair coming up from its ears. #sciart

Today we have the Giraffe, a herbivore who loves acacia trees and other leafy greens. They are the tallest living land animal and use their height to spot predators approaching from far away. Apologies for the delay in animal art, preparing for the card game launch has been keeping me busy! #sciart

The Baryonyx is believed to have spent its days roaming near water and scooping up fish with its big claws. They lived about 125 million years ago and are considered part of the same family as the Spinosaurus! #baryonyx #sciart #dinosaurart

Seahorses are extremely agile but terrible swimmers. They use their prehensile tail to hold onto various coral and vegetation. The most unique thing about them though is that the male gives birth to new young. #seahorse #sciart

TIL the Pallas’s cat is also known as a Manul. They have unique pupils for a cat, contracting into circles rather than vertical slits. Although fluffy they are aggressive and live mostly solitary lives in crevices and caves. #sciart #cat #manul

Leopard geckos are nocturnal and have the ability to drop their tail when grabbed from behind. They also have moveable eyelids which is actually pretty uncommon for geckos 🦎 #sciart #gecko

Any mice fans out there? Wood mice mainly eat seeds and often store them in burrows for snacks later. They also leave twigs and leaves as little landmarks to help them return home as they venture out looking for food. What’s your favourite kind of mouse? #sciart #mice #mouse

I give you the blue poison dart frog 🐸! Their poison comes from the insects they eat, and they won’t be poisonous if they are in captivity without their natural diet. They are basically little poison alchemists, turning the compounds they eat into poison within themselves. #sciart #dartfrog #frog

Another bird that I have a soft spot for is the Rock Dove, also known as the Rock Pigeon. These folks live in flocks of 50 - 500 birds, and can communicate danger by flapping their wings at varying speeds. #birdart #sciart #pigeon

Ah the brown bear. When I learned about hibernation as a kid, this was the first animal they told me about. Something about a winter nap that lasted 5 - 8 months really appealed to me. Brown bears are also known to cache their food for a snack later. #sciart #bear #brownbear
